How does the NHL keep allowing these Godawful calls to happen? As a Canucks fan, that’s prolly the worst call I’ve seen all year
If we are going to decide games, goals by inches and waiste minutes deciding those calls we lost our game. But I guess people need jobs.
What a weird Game?? Let's go upstairs 2 times and take 2 goals away from Oilers like it's the Stanley Cup play offs!! Lmao. I feel if you go upstairs and call in favor for 1 team you cant do it again in favor of the same team again. Whether or not what really happened. Both calls were iffy!! Flames need to take the reff out for a few wobbly pops for that one or give him a free flames Jersey. Also only 1 penalty called on the Flames. What did I just watch??
Weird, feel that should have counted. I guess it didn’t matter though as would likely just be 4-2 F instead of 4-1 F
Sickening
Weak call.
oiLers suck
no more farting on the ice😢, especially in front of a goalie
come on that's a goal
All those saying it was a bad decision- tell me, what is the point of a goal crease?
Everyone here that’s complaining obviously does not understand the rule book. This was goaltender interference. It was borderline but it did happen. (Btw please come and cry and complain you oilers that are going 0-3 including a game with the hawks 🤣)
Came here for Salty Oiler fans.
Lots of idiots arguing "it was 4-1 wouldn't have made a difference anyway. " So simple minded. 1 was an empty netter
Both waived off goals were coaches challenge, if im not mistaken if u fail a challenge, u dont get another one. So if Toronto got the call right, Oilers would've been up 2-0, and been on a powerplay, plus Calgary wouldn't have been able to even challenge the offside that the refs missed. So thats 3-0, provided no goal on the powerplay.
I uploaded the IIHF Rulebook to Chat gpt and asked the following question. "An attacking player deflects the puck while standing in front of the goalie inside the crease. it leads to a goal. the player did not have physical contact with the goalie. the player stood in direct line between defenseman who shot the puck and the goalie and net so that the goalie had to look around the player who deflected the puck. Is this a good goal?"
Its response: "The goal in this scenario would not be allowed under IIHF rules. Even if there is no physical contact with the goalie, an attacking player cannot obstruct the goaltender’s ability to play their position. In this case, if the offensive player is standing in the crease and screening the goalie, preventing them from seeing or reacting to the shot, it constitutes interference. Since the player is obstructing the goalie’s vision from inside the crease, the goal would be disallowed. The exact rule that applies to this scenario in the IIHF rulebook is Rule 69 – Interference on the Goalkeeper."
This was goalie interference by the book/written rules. What is ridiculous is the NHL keeps changing its own criteria as this would have been a goal last and many previous seasons. You wrote the rule book, keep to it instead of improvising all the time.
The thing is, Perry is in the blue paint. Vladar was trying to make a save from that last shot with Perry in the blue paint making an effort to block Vladar from trying to make a save.
Bottom line: stay out of the blue paint …
Weak call though.
Correct call. Perry needs to get out of the blue, but he's constitutionally incapable of NOT being a d-bag. lulz
I thought immediately point shot was toeing line way too much & was offside but was surprised when they challenged w/ goalie interference.
With all these reviews you wonder about the gambling issue.
Is there any fair way to put a time-limit on reviews? This one seemed to take forever.
Can someone who knows hockey rules explain me why that was no goal? I dont understand why this is goalie interference 🤷♂️
I hate the Edmonton Oilers but I'm all about fairness & unbiased calls! That should've been a goal!
Utterly bogus
If the overhead is what proves it to be a good call why don't we get to see it in this video?
WE NEED A NEW NHL OWNER THIS IS NIT FAIR
The only goals that the Oilers can score are the illegal ones.
Embarrassing!
How bad can them refs get.
Are we back to this toe in the crease garbage again? Screening the goalie is not interference. Preventing the goalie from moving in the blue paint to make a save is interference.
One of the worst calls in a while, should not rattle a team with 1 goal lead still. Put out the gritty garbage goal guys and make the stars sit a bit if you want to fire up your lazy team!!
He bumped the goalies right skate and made contact at that moment. Then he establishes the high position and tips it home. Good call on the coaches challenge by Huska.
