The third line was a disaster Saturday, so good reason to get Jake in there. Lapierre was disappointing notably, so hopefully he bounces back.

That third line combo of Vrana-Lapierre-Mangiapane is a speedy trio. Conversely though, the top line of Protas-Strome-Ovi might be the league’s slowest line though hopefully Ovechkin playing on his natural hand side allows him to speed up his game a bit by not having to cut across from his off-hand side to tee off a shot.

There’s pretty much no way that he’ll be worse than Milano was. What happened to him? Was it really just the pressure to prove himself and get a contract that kept him going the last 2 years?
