Sorokin was absolutely solid. He made huge saves, especially later in the game. I watched the entire game. Everyone looked much better. Let’s keep it going!!!
Isles so night and day. Getting 30 back a big boost. Offense balanced 13, 11 g, 29 2 g, even 27 scored. Isles even outshoot a faster av's team with a jittery goalie and pk perfect second straight game. Good win. St. roy enjoyed his return to avland. Now off to blows.

Sorokin fell right back into playing good he looks like he feels good he was def moving good so that's a huge I was very happy to see him play well ty Gil

Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? The Islanders looked terrific last 🌙, and so did Ilya Sorokin, who I didn't expect to be back until later in the month. I hope CO fans had no hard feelings towards Patrick Roy for the way left. You're right, Gil, you get a back injury, it stays with you forever, Mike Bossy 1957-2022 is proof of that, an it cost him 5-10 years of his career, and maybe 500 additional goals along with it. It looked like it would be the same old story. Sorokin was great; however, he could have a setback.
The Islanders cleaned up some issues on defense, and the PK was good, too. The Islanders held the lead in the 3rd period. Hero, Brocktober and Ilya Sorokin. No goats. HAPPY 🎂, TOM KERVERS 1962-2021. Hear from you later, and LET'S GO ISLANDERS.
It was nice to get a win, but it's a mixed bag. Without Sorokin in net this one could have had a different ending. He had 2 or 3 amazing saves. Georgiev had a rough night, but 3 (or even 4) of the Islander goals probably go in against any goalie in the league. The Nelson, Duclair and Palms goals were high skill, even with the unlucky poke check that came right back to Palms. I would even include the Lee goal because Georgiev isn't the first goalie to fail to seal the post quick enough to stop Anders in close. He threaded the needle.
But I have to wonder how many of those Isle chances were due to them having a depleted roster with 5 or 6 starters out.
The Isles showed a lot of good signs and seem to be getting a hold of Roy's system. We'll see.
How the heck did they make the playoffs last year with Sorokin hurting..worst Penalty Kill in NHL (has that ever even happened??) ..plus new coach….no De for half season….only 4 top six players….Varly was by far team MVP …Lou addressed all of that plus Lou’s the reason why we even have Varly…we can make playoffs if Sorokin is good to go..LGI!!
