On one hand, two overtime goals away from a 3-0 start. On the other hand, this was such an ugly game. No regulation losses yet though

Hi I’m Anze Kopitar, Captain of your LA Kings. Today I was on the ice for 5 goals for, 1 against (PK). My team lost 8-7. This has been my life for 10 years.
Idk if it was a coaching decision or if DK said something in the room but Big Save Dave absolutely should’ve started that 3rd period. Kuemper completely lost his mojo and focus. Not much help from the defense either tho.
Pretty upset about the way this one ultimately played out. Uncomfortable flashbacks to the 9-8 loss in Seattle a couple of seasons ago. Very frustrating game. Hope these guys get a nice healthy bag skate as a reward.

I have some serious whiplash from that game, bruh
Good:
-A lot of players finally getting on the scoreboard today
-Clarke and Kopitar with 3 assist games was hype
-Powerplay looked better for sure
-The game was certainly entertaining!
Bad:
-Kuemper looked absolutely horrible and his 5-hole is looking like a serious issue
-Defense was horrible
-So many bad passes and bobbled pucks, once again Fiala killing plays with his bobbles (but he also scored twice we take that)
-Way too many penalties again, and this time our penalty kill did not look good
That game did not feel like a good omen for things to come this year but I suppose we will take the point and move on

Truly a loser’s point in this one. Watching that scrub mackewan snipe on us twice was honestly absurd.
Lots to be concerned about, but I’m just gonna chalk this one up to a fuckin 10am game on a Monday and leave it at that. Hopefully it’s a fluke.

This felt like that 9-8 OT loss to Seattle from 2 years ago. And not in a good way.
I think we can all agree this was roller coaster of a game. Too early for in the day and season for this level of anxiety
Ottawa definitely deserved this game despite us being up for most of it, at least we didn’t just flop and roll over in the third IMO. Points get you to playoffs so just gotta take em as they come

Why didn’t he pull Kuemper when it was clear the Kings were not getting « game saving » play from Darcy? Midway through the 2nd it was clear.
He looked tired.
Speaking of DK. He missed several because his stick is high while butterfly sliding.
Last game, he allowed a goal by double sliding when he should have made it easily on 1. It left his stick high and the 5 hole open as well. Bad goals.
The 1 2 2 is always exposed by the long pass. I rarely saw them even get close to seeing up a strong fore check.
Has Gavrikov replaced Drew for the most part? I guess it’s ok but he is on the wrong side.
Wellll at least the Oilers are doing worse than us and there’s still a lot of time to fix errors, let’s hope they actually try to fix those errors though.
Kopitar, Doughty, and Brownie should’ve been out to start OT.

Defense was awful. Not cool. Ugly ass game.
Giving up 8 goals to the sens. Glad we spent so much money on getting tougher to play against this year. What a joke.
Reading into a team three games into a season without a star player is silly. I’m actually happy that DK had two good games to start and we’re getting going offensively. Jeannot scoring is huge. We’ll figure the D out.
Ok so I missed the 3rd period. I’m not that worried YET. Kings have shown they can score when given opportunities which is good, but they need to tighten up the D. I think DK has looked good much better than I thought he was when we signed him. Certain players *cough cough Fiala* need to be better in the defensive end but I will be a lot more concerned if the team is making the same mistakes 10 games into the season because then it’s not a “start of the new season problem”, it’s an “individual player effort” problem, but I do think we have a playoff team.
Was just one of those games. Special teams went wild on both sides and momentum was just sporadic.

I know it sucks allowing 8 goals, but I didn’t even know our team was capable of scoring 7 in a week, let alone ONE GAME. I see this as a win 😂

One of the most disastrous performances I’ve seen from us in a long time, kept taking poor penalties and PK didn’t exist. Defense was appalling.
