  1. Flurry is good, but he has aged. Dont get it twisted, if we go on a run, we need to have gus the bus as the driver

  2. As a Minnesotan living in Tennessee watching this live on ESPN was amazing. Also, being a former goalie!!! As soon as Gus gloved it and put the puck on the ice, I was already off my seat. Hardest time falling asleep after THAT game!!!

  3. In New Zealand, they don't do penalties in the first 2 periods, the offended player gets a penalty shot. One of the goalies was the offended player and he got a penalty shot and he scored it!

  4. The most likely scenario for a goalie scoring on another goalie is when one is being pulled, and the other scores before he gets to the bench. While anticlimactic, this would still count as a goal against and I cant find any footage of this ever happening.

  5. Doesn't matter what team you love, what players you love or hate. A goaltender goal is always something amazing to watch.
That being said.. where is Shesterkins goal? He needs to get one already.

  6. That’s crazy! Exactly 11 years ago (this Sat) I got to witness a goalie score.
I was at the Phoenix Coyotes game, when Mike Smith, scored a goal against my Detroit Red Wings.
I wished it was the other way around but I still appreciated the rarity of the moment.

  7. The only time i can imagine a goalie scoring on another goalie is if something really weird happens. Last year mtl scored against tb when the lightning thought the play was dead, and i always thought the goalie should have taken the shot

  8. A goalie scoring with a goalie in net has happened before in the NHL…on the stat sheet.

One of Martin Brodeur’s 3 goals happened with a goalie on the ice; he was trying to go back & stop it however he wasn’t in time. On the stat sheet, he was on the ice & in goal.

Funny enough, Brodeur in his first career start with the St. Louis Blues was going to the bench for an extra attacker when the puck came to him. He played it by shooting it down to Pekka Rinne, who either made the stop & covered it, or just went wide for icing.

  9. I'm curious. Out of all of the things to say at the beginning of a video showing a rare and wonderful goalie goal —– why would you say and why would I want to — "Grab my butt"? 🤔 It seems an odd choice of expressions from my perspective. Otherwise, thanks for the video. 🙂

  10. I was at the Rangers game on Monday, and when Detroit pulled their goalie, me along with many others were yelling to pass the puck to Igor. Unfortunately it didn't happen, but a least Mika Zibanejad finally scored his first goal of the season!

  11. I saw a video of a European game a few years ago where a goalie scored on a goalie in the net. On replay, you could see the defenseman barely hit the puck at center while it was in the air. That was enough to deflect it in. I'm sure you could find it.

I got to see this goal live last night. It was pretty exciting even though I was rooting for the Blues.

  12. If a goalie ever scores with the other goalie present, that defending goalie will probably never be able to show their face again.

  13. I had Jarry in Yahoo Fantasy last year, Gus in ESPN Fantasy this year … neither allow the commissioner to count goalie goals. WTF?

  14. We almost had a time in the NHL where a goalie scored a goal when the other goalie is in net. It happened in 2013 (February 9th to be exact). The Devils were on the penalty kill against the Penguins. During the penalty kill, Marty Brodeur lost his stick. Travis Zajac took the puck out of the zone, allowing Brodeur to grab his stick. But as Brodeur was getting his stick, Fleury took the puck back in the Devils zone, it hit one post, then it hit Brodeur's skate, it hit the other post, it was moving right where Brodeur was moving (BEHIND HIM BY THE WAY), but it STAYED OUT of the net, and Brodeur made the save. So close, but it also turned out that a Penguin was still in the zone when the puck went in the zone, so even if the goal was scored, it would be disallowed due to offside. But man, was that insane. It would have been interesting to see Fleury get a power play goalie goal against Marty Brodeur (which is funny since only a month later, Brodeur HIMSELF would get a power play goal).
