I think this is good news. Doesn’t explain why everyone seemed so worried when he first went on the injury report though.

One more related comment from **Russo**:

Guerin also said Daemon Hunt will be recalled for at least start of trip

Sucks for everyone mainly for him and his health. That being said, some decisions should be confronted like making 97 the new C. Give him that ownership. A good Captain should recognize he cannot lead from the press box for 2 seasons. We’ll learn a lot about his leadership if it’s another long season with a C on the training table.

Brutal update. Hoping for the best for Spurg.

I think we’ll be lucky if he plays again at all, honestly. The guy obviously has developed a chronic injury. Sad to see a guy who’s been such a gamer for this franchise going out like this.

They genuinely need to start talking about moving on. If he’s reaggravating a previously season ending injury, there’s no telling if he’s going to be good enough to play meaningful time anymore

Fuck, but yeah, we need a new C. Foligno’s the obvious candidate but i wouldn’t mind them saying fuck it and put it on Faber right away.

  8. PaxDragoon

I find that verbiage from Guerin concerning.

I think he needs to rest up until about April 20th.

Crazy reading comments. Most a worried about who will be captain. We should be worried about Spurg’s health.

  11. So who is top choice to take the C?

Foligno is probably the obvious choice. Do you give it to Kirill to sweeten the deal of him staying long term? JEEK may be a bit of a dark horse candidate but he’s definitely shown his leadership capabilities on the ice.

Or do we embrace the chaos and give it to Jake “Tarps Off” Middleton?

LTIR – frees up $7M we can use to bring in another stud!

  13. You give the C to Kap. Unless of course he doesn’t want it for some reason.

“Part of the healing process”: I call B.S. He re-aggravated the previous injuries, clearly. Playing future is questionable at best.

Did he receive any malicious hit in the only game he played so far this season?
