  1. As a blues fan best coach in the nhl , no bullshit calls out all players , now sadly Jordan Kyrou feelings got hurt and got him fired,, and his press conferences are great

  2. I loved this. Not because I like seeing people humiliated on TV. Because it got results. My assumption is that he knew how much "abuse" the boys could take before they went the other way. If he knows how to light a fire under them without making them grip their sticks too hard then I have no notes.

  3. If any team needs a wake-up call even when they are in the lead, It’s Toronto; the biggest choke artist team in NHL history

  4. Berube might yet make a real playoff contending team out of these guys. If the Oilers can make the cup finals after their start last year , then Berube can make the Leafs a good playoff team . JUST KIDDING, LEAFS SUCK ALWAYS !!!!! LOL

  5. I love what and how Berube is doing, I think its exactly what this team needed, a hardass coach but doesn't go over the line cough Babcock also I think McMann is going to quickly become a coach favorite with his hard nosed play and goal scoring ability

  6. What we need is a strong work ethic and there are times when it feels like they don't have that. He's going to build this new mindset over the season.

  7. Ok this is what Toronto needs to pull a Nick Sabin and Berube has shown it they need to act like they hate Losing

  8. Whether its game 4 of the regular season or game 7 of the stanrly cup final there should be a standard everytime you step on the ice. And if you cant meet that standard you dont play, thats how things should be

  9. The Leafs needed that "adjustment." They were up and chose to sit back and play sloppy hockey, leaving Stolarz, who had played excellently, out to dry.

  10. I was a lifelong Leafs fan and I honestly just couldn't sit through another season. I'm hoping for my dad's sake that Berube changes things, but it's just going to be the same thing again this year.

  11. That approach may have worked 20 years ago, but today's athletes eventually tune that stuff out and the coach loses his team.. don't cry Toronto when this happens

  12. Holy cow the leafs start the season at the top of their division! Perhaps this is the year!

  13. Brother are you from Halifax? I been watching this content for ages and this guy just on the other side of the bridge.

  14. This is what the Red Wings desperately need. Instead they have a soft handshake uncle Fester as coach. I wanted Stolarz so bad as a Florida fan as well. Was sad to see him go anywhere else but Detroit.

  15. Love the timeout.

Its very easy for a team to take their foot off the gas, and LA was looking to close the gap in the next 10 minutes.

We've seen this happen many times, when a team thinks they have a comfy lead, start being lazy, and then the other team makes a big comeback.

  16. Berube is clearly familiar with all of the Leafs collapses in the playoffs and when they have the lead. Killer instinct is needed by this team, and he's bringing it.

  17. Before the timeout, it felt like the Kings might pull off an upset. It was probably an excellent call by the coach. However, putting any weight behind the victory over the Kings is like celebrating a race against a disabled kid.

  18. Blues fan, Berube is awesome, definitely rooting for the leafs this year if the Blues get knocked out.

When he was our coach we played with so much heart and intensity. Stuff like the hand pass vs San Jose in the 2019 playoffs didnt deflate us, it pissed us off and made us play better.

Or in 2022 we were the only team other than TB to not get swept vs Colorado in the playoffs. If Binnington didnt get hurt that series who knows how it would‘ve turned out.

  19. A top team needs to crush weaker teams, every game matters, previous Leaf teams have mailed it in during seemingly meaningless games too often in the past.

  20. Extremely needed. Leafs historically have consistently let up when they’re ahead or like to try and play catch up when they’re behind. Much better to just create a lead, create an even bigger lead and hold it strongly. Liking the Leafs under Berube so far, but it is a very small sample size. If he changes this for good, that would be incredible.

  21. "Enjoy it"….Leafs: "What?"…."This"…..Leafs: "I don't think you appreciate how good our team is right now."….."Soon, there's going to be a knock on that door and you will be called outside. In the hall there will be the playoffs. First he'll compliment you on the fine job you've done – on you making the playoffs in the first place. That you're to receive accolades from all the local bootlickers and sycophants masquerading as the local media. And then he's going to beat you, again, in the first round. You're going to protest. You'll probably threaten to resign. But in the end, you will lose."

  22. That is what they need! too many times they've been caught sitting on a 2 goals lead and ended up short at the ned of the 3rd

  23. That other nit never called a time out. Like he was afraid to or something. When so many times it would have been the thing to do. So glad he’s gone

  24. Berube as HC of the Leafs is kinda foreshadowing of my man Dan Campbell. Change of culture for my Lions and hopefully the same for my Leafs!
