This is what happens when you overhaul a team like the Oilers did. 2 new top 6 forwards, 3 new dmen. It's going to take time to get things going. This is a 2nd half team. If by the deadline they don't look like a top 6 Western conference team, then panic for sure. Otherwise just relax.

I see that in this league they also love connections… A manager comes to a team and brings in players from other teams through his connections. Yes, Barry Trotz and others?? This explains the strange numbers in different contracts.
McDavid has a lingering issue that started last year in the series and he still did not overcome this:
He is playing the puck too long to get the pitch perfect shot instead of shooting which would eventually find it's way in. I noticed this last year… like he is a nervous wreck and feels a ton of pressure which in return make him play subpar. He needs to relax and stop trying to carry all of the team and be perfect and he should be able to get back to normal. If he keeps like this he is not going anywhere this year again.

Oilers and the Leafs are similarly built. Top heavy, questionable defense and unreliable goaltending. They can coast on skill and win games but when their stars get shut down their goaltenders will let in back-breaking goals. It's not a recipe for sustainable success.
The Oil cant handle the stars when they're strong and rested. At this rate they wont even make the playoffs. You get one past Skinner and he crumbles.
