  1. A whole city trying to out a guy just to fit a weird narrative will make a guy unhappy. Don’t know why he didn’t just demand a trade to get out of that weird city like everyone else.

  2. Source material? Moreover, I'd love to have him in Nashville…he is the elusive centerman that our franchise has never had…something that is self-evident right now actually with our persistent 2nd line woes and lack of playmaking for our scorers. Not gonna ever happen though.

  3. This makes no sense. EP wants to win, they finally won last year. They didn't just sneak into the playoffs, they were first in the division and went to game seven against the Oilers. This is a non-issue, EP will get better and be ready come playoff time.

  4. Buddy He Thrived With Boudreau. Best Year Ever. No Brainer. Even Wayne Gretzky said he couldn't play this kind of hockey this weird tactical hockey players can't be themselves Tocket let's face it. He Kills The Development O fSuper Stars. Kuz Pods He Won't Last.

  5. I think he’s struggling to redefine who he is as a top-5-in-the-league talent on a winning team. And honestly, I’d rather have a Petey who DOESN’T score 100 points but who plays 200’ hockey on a team that delivers. I think that once he matures into a player who accepts how good he is in other aspects, more important TEAM characteristics, of his game, he’ll find happiness and that comfort we’ve seen in his past play.

  6. He's never been a great coach look at his track record in the end he won't last two seasons he'll be fired that's my prediction and the Canucks organization has a major problem with Russians it leaves a bad stain with the organization they have this Swedish now Americans players mentality

  7. My prediction, when Petterson can come to terms with being the second best, he'll very soon after, become the best.

  8. I don't understand the hate for Pettersson? I would be completely unhappy getting paid $11.6 million a year to play the game I love. LMAO.

  9. Honestly never thought petty was that great and I thought from day 1 this contract was a huge overpay

  10. If Petty is unhappy ask for a trade, let's move on he's got lots of skill but to win the cup you need heart and a team game, should have looked for 2 good Canadian boys. Why is it scooter boy can't play with anyone else??? Grumpy just speak up Petty if you don't want to be here.

  11. I was initially a proponent for paying Petterson the market value for a franchise player ($11.5 million) as, at the time, he made everyone better around him (no matter who he seemed to play with) and truly looked like he deserved to be paid franchise player money. Don't forget that Petterson was lighting up the points over the first half of the season until he signed his contract, then he seemed to go cold. This is the difference between a true franchise player and a flash-in-the-pan as they seem to find a way to fight through any performance adversity (ie. Crosby, Ovechkin, McDavid). If Petterson wants to truly regard himself as in this elite category, he has to start playing elite hockey consistently- NO excuses. The fact is that cohesive, disciplined, highly competitive TEAMS who fight through adversity win Stanley Cups, NOT simply individual primadonnas all by themselves.

  12. Pettersson appears to have Post Concussion Syndrome in my opinion, being a Detroit fan and watching several years of Johan Franzen trying to recover. Just sayin, don't rule that out and be too harsh on the player or start firing everyone on the team until that posibility is explored fully.

  13. I like Petterson with Gars and Hogs. They created some really good scoring chances. The hogs goal was a beauty. All three guys contributed on that one.

  14. big softy feeling for Bambi … Petey a championship caliber? He better compare himself to the WINNERS.

  15. Canucks game tickets are sky high , petterson a cry baby , canucks management done their best to accommodate petterson, now many Vancouver fans stop going to games , petterson is useless

  16. The problem is Rick Tocchet. He needs to let Elias do his thing on the offensive end, which is just floating around and suddenly makes a wicked pass to an open teammate. Why would I want Elias to block shot anyways? There are other guys who can do that.

  17. Why is everybody giving PD a pass yet? Dog piled on JT Miller because he was blowing up in anger and frustration from not winning which you’re supposed to do PD has no character no strength just a ton of skill.

  18. making tens of millions to play in the nhl but he's not happy lol

seriously this guy needs to grow up and just get going

  19. As of right now
Petey isnt even worth $5 MILL per season Let alone $11.6 MILL
    Get with the Program PETEY
After sucking in the Playoffs and having 2 Months off
He should be at another level right now …Not the same player

  20. This all happened because of the kuzmenko trade. Kuz was the light in pettersons heart.

  21. Every body in this comment section are all saying how bad Petey is and how we should trade him, or that he’s worth 5 million. Watch in a month all of the people in this comment section will start loving Petey when he’s fully adjusted to the season the system and has better line mates

  22. Let's say and accept that 2 seasons ago, Elias Petterson had a great year. Did the Canucks have a great year? Nope, we finished 22nd in the league and about 20 points away from making the last possible spot in the playoffs. I once thought trading away Bo Horvat was illogical cause of the points he provided, but seeing how the TEAM operated thereafter, i came to think how insensible putting too much value on one player has. It's a gamble no matter how you look at it. At the end of the day what you need is a good team and players who will have your back and set you up no matter what. What i loved about last season is we never knew who was gonna be our goal scorer. Everyone had a chance/shot( except maybe Ilya Mikeyev.. sooo many chances). If we think the style doesn't work for one player and that's the problem then we need only worry when the style doesn't work for the team. Petey will have to, and will eventually figure it out. If he was happy when the team was doing poorly and unhappy now it's having more success maybe it's time to figure out something new and evolve with the team somehow.

  23. Trade him now if he is unhappy , better to be sorry than late , he won’t produce if he is unhappy no need to keep him , this will be good for both side, ultimately team’s glory is greater than personal gains

  24. For each Year they have made him less EP40 and more a generic player. Now with RT his original style of play is even more unwanted: Picking RT as a coach they should have traded EP.
