Before moving to Greenland, I used to be in Lacombe and barely picked up the 630 ched signal. I just ended up streaming their pre and post game shows using their web broadcast instead, and listened to the games on Satellite Radio. Is 880 the Calgary version of 630? I picked up next to no Calgary stations north of Red Deer. I lived in a valley that didn't get great radio reception.
I wonder if the lack of pressure and expectations is part of the reason's for the Flames fast start. It kind of reminds me of Vegas in their expansion year being referred to as a "bunch of misfits". On the opposite end, the Oilers have the huge weight of expectations and essentially entered the season with all eyes on them. I feel for both teams, the results are related to their preseason expectations. Maybe the Oilers should block out the media clips and just play to their own internal expectations.
