The Jets are similar to last year. That means, they are better than average and usually do well in the first half before the Really Good teams heat up. Many teams are growing through the changes in the off season, like Nashville, etc. The Jets are pretty much the same team. They just changed up their 3rd pairing D and their backup goalie. So, that means they will get points, probably squeak into the playoffs and will be out in the first round again. UNLESS… they get a Nasty TOP RHD and Nasty TOP 6 winger. They need MUCH MORE grit and bite. Then and only then will they have a chance. Oh, and Renny (Sean Reynolds) is mostly always correct. 😄

When you think about it, they don't need that much, and the right trade package
could facilitate their needs. Too many people already writing off the Jets, too
early. They are very close. You acquire a Tkachuk and Bennet type of player, and
get a little grit, and it may be enough.
It's not the best team that wins the Stanley cup…. it's a team of destiny that hoists lords Stanley's Cup!!! The blues, avalanche, Habs and golden knights had to battle wpg before making finals appearance…. 😮

Uh the team was second in the Central and had an all time horrible power play which isn’t even sustainable. They’ll win the Central.

19 teams since 2001 have made Cup Final with a 1st year head coach. I want to buy into WPG. But if they couldn’t win with Maurice or Bowness… what gets Arniel the same respect those other 2 coaches have?
The thing about Winnipeg’s playoff issues is disagree with is that when you look at the context for the games and series’ they lost the only one that feels justified as their pure failure as a team is the Colorado series
2018 – WCF Loss to Vegas (Caps win the Cup against Vegas)
2019 – Lose their D-core, First Round Loss to St. Louis (St. Louis Wins the Cup)
2020 – Lost to Calgary in the Play-in Round > Injuries to Schiefelle and Laine in Game 1, team out scored 10-2 in the final two games
2021 – Defeat Edmonton in a Sweep, Schiefelle gets suspended for 4 games and Price plays incredibly well – Lose to Montreal (Goes to SCF)
2022 – Paul Maurice leaves in November team team misses the playoffs under Lowry.
2023 – Dominant Game 1 against Vegas, Close games for the rest of the series. Vegas goes on to win the Cup
2024 – Barnburner Game 1, Jets defence gets exposed for their passivity, gives up their blue-line, Colorados offensive defencemen feast.

I don’t think this team has been given any credit for their compete and resilience the last 8 years and the narrative of the team as perennial losers just feels inaccurate to me
The main thing he missed is the improved power play. Special teams was their main deficiency last year.
