@Maple Leafs de Toronto

1. I've pulled my hair out, all of it, watching this team for 50 years. I've finally come to this conspiracy theory. "The root of all evil is money" Correct? "Follow the Money" Correct? What is the most profitable team in the league regardless or wins or losses? Correct? It's been 21 years since a Canadian team has won the cup. Correct? Does that sound fishy to you? My theory : The power of the NHL Board of Governors has shifted to governors representing American billionaires who own American teams. Decades ago they banded together to decide that the purpose of the Maple Leafs is to regularly lose to inferior teams to the overall benefit to the league, now owned and run by American interests in increasing their fan bases. That also neatly explains why the NHL has the most bizarre, inconsistent, and unaccountable refereeing in all of pro sports on par with Professional Wrestling. Where there is money, there is power, and where there is power, there is corruption. Correct?

  2. I mean…I feel like we all just focus on The Leafs thinking this only happens to them…Florida lost 5-1 last night and Boston lost 4-0. People have off nights.

  3. Sid Seixeiro, on so many episodes of City-TV Toronto's Breakfast TV, has criticized how the Leafs have played in the regular season and postseason, and I won't be surprised if on a future episode of that a.m. show, he criticizes the Leafs once again. Dennis Hildeby allowed four ugly goals that I could count (the 1st 4 he had allowed), putting into serious doubt his competence. Yes I believe in giving Hildeby, for as long as Woll is unavailable, another chance before a need to send the 1st goalie down to the Marlies, but to send Hildeby down to the Marlies ASAP after Woll's latest injury stint is done provided that injury stint ends at any point before the Leafs' next set of games scheduled on consecutive calendar days Eastern Time. Bringing up Artur Akhtyamov or Vyacheslav Peksa from the Marlies will IMO be necessary provided, during the next pairing of games scheduled to take place on consecutive calendar days ET:
    – Woll is unavailable to play
    – Hildeby once again is a sieve
    AND
    – Akhtyamov or Peksa is available for a recall

  4. Same team maybe next year after we get rid of shanahan we can do something. Bring in a guy that realizes marner is useless. Need your top guys to be power forwards like knies mcmann and robertson

  5. You called it AB! You charitably describe it as an "off-night", but the history screams that its the flip of that … another "night off". However much might have changed, the Leafs habit of failing to rise to the occassion when playing teams that they should trounce HAS NOT … yet. Who knows what happens going forward. I would not want to deal with Chief at their next practice … not going to be a happy time.

    I realize that this happens to every team over a long season, but that is different than a long string of data points that tells you that they lack the mental toughness to show up every night. Until they shut down a string of team that they should dominate … on back to backs and in away games. Championship teams or contenders DON"T LOSE THOSE GAMES. Other than Nicky Bobby getting off the schneid and the PK, this game was a disaster.

  6. Can't be surprised about this. 3 games in 4 nights, 2nd of a back to back, travel, etc etc. CBJ was well rested and waiting. Berube will move on from this one, but if they do a repeat performance in St Louis on Thursday, all Hell will break loose. 4 games in 7 nights this week, really rough scheduling. Game was a write off, move on quickly from it, focus on the Blues, who will be no pushover.

  7. Old habits die hard..not showing up on time and getting filled in by a bottom feeder. We've seen this act over the years and its still there. To mail it in only 7 games into the season is concerning, this is were Berube can control who gets ice time or not. He really can't do more than sit guys when they're not skating, lets see he's any different that Keefe or not?

  8. Berube has 75 more games to make the roster "playoff ready". This squad has to be use to playing a grueling schedule and bringing 100% even when fatigued. 8 years of bad habits wont be erased in 7 games.

  9. Cause for concern. Plus when the hell is Treliving going to unload Kampf, Jarnkrok, Liljegren?

  10. The worst thing for a young goaltender is to be scheduled to start for the Leafs on the second half of a back to back against a bottom feeder.

  11. I’m here only to support Als brother.. I hate the leafs but will subscribe and like because als brother is a legend.

  12. New Coach, Same Team. Play down to the shit teams. To say Reaves shouldn’t play another game is an understatement. That first goal said it all.

  13. At least Toronto fans (and media)not over reacting, LOL LOL. The team played 6 terrific games in a row and were due for a crap game. Look at Tampa they got hammered by Leafs and last night hammered NJD. I think they are going to win the cup this year.
