  1. Oilers were predicted by most sources by saying looking at oilers roster they are the team to beat, well this is not the case and someone better understand there is a serious problem to whats going on.

  2. Oilers are player and line juggling way too much hoping for a miracle and nothing is working for them, player on ice positioning and on ice thought focus is just not there for some reason, these are highly paid players for a reason but, they are not looking as that, if it does not change I will agree, there will be consequences.

  3. One letter makes a world of difference. The Oilers should have shown up to training camp, Mad that they lost in the Finals and using that anger to motivate themselves; that is what a championship team would do. Instead, the Oilers arrived at camp, Sad. Then, the coaching staff either didn't read the room (in training camp) or didn't have the personality to motivate their players to Get Up and Get Ready to battle; so the coaches played the players soft, and this start to the season is what has now happened. I like the Oilers coach, i really do; and I liked Woody as well. Coaches are made to be fired, and anyone in the Oilers organization who isnt seriously consider firing the coaching staff (in its entirety) right now, should be shown the door immediately. Here is what i would do; fire the entire coaching staff, bring in an experienced and emotional head coach (Hello? Is this Joel Quenneville?), trade Bouchard for a 2nd pair RD and a middle-6 physical winger, and bring up Philps to center line #4. I'd run a first D-pair of Ekholm with Nurse, a 2nd pair of Kulak with the RD you traded for, and a 3rd pair of LD Emberson and RD Brown (if they could make that pair work). Line 1 would be Skinner with Connor and Zach, Line 2 would be that new physical winger with Arvidsson and Leon, Line 3 would be Adam between Nuge and Brown, and L4 would be Philps with Janmark and Perry/Podkolzin. Can't do anything about the goalies, except get them a new goalie coach and hope. This wouldnt solve all the problems, but playing with anger and determination (or the new coach sits you!) sure will make a lot of difference.

  4. I don't think it's the coach it's the locker room you got some players are getting paid big money for no effort whatsoever and you have other players the bus in your tails to get paid nothing I need to get to locker room and check

  5. Sheesh people are very sensitive about this topic & title. I for one do not think his job is, nor should be in jeopardy. There was more turnover than anyone wanted. That’s on management wetting the bed more than knobby. But I think the coaching staff deserves some blame for not have this team ready to go after the preseason! A lot of that on the players sure, but why can’t knobby be allocated a bit of criticism? It will turn around but this team is simply not as good as game 7 of the SC!

  6. Other than Tippet (1.5 years) and Hitchcock (1 year – washed up) when have then actually gone out and hired a real bonified quality veteran coach over the past 15 years? Didn't they overlook Paul Maurice who just beat us in the final?

  7. A hero one year a bum the next? Give me a break guys. I keep telling you that if they pay 97 and 29 too much then there’s not enough cap for support players.
If the guys don’t give 100% for a whole 60 minutes then they lose. 110% in playoffs. Can’t blame the coach. The boys are adults now, I assume.

  8. "Clickbait"

The average watch time is 5:43 out of the full 12:48 as of around 7 am the next day. I guarantee anyone calling this video clickbait, watched close to or less than the 5:43. Heaven forbid a complicated topic like this take time to explain 😅

  9. Pretty sick of seeing the same lackluster starts year after year. I started to worry when I heard all the talk about having a better start than last year and then seeing their lack of motivation in the preseason.

  10. It is a roster issue. Let's be clear: it ALWAYS solely relied on Connor and Leon. Almost got a cup with this formula… but this year the team is older and slower. This team has passed its prime, it was last season or never with this core. If Nurse wasn't here and his 9.25M it would have been possible to keep Broberg and Holloway.

  11. There's got to be a point where the fingers point at the players. Endless coaching changes are not the answer. Every player on this team needs to look in the mirror.

  12. The oil need more role players then all so called top 6 players . They have no heart or guts to fight for a win . They need to stop praising top 6 but hold them accountable. They can't out score ALL the mistakes

  13. Put Nurse on the power play as a forward then park him in front of the NET IN FRONT OF THE OPPOSITIONS GOALY , other teams got the Oilers figured out with someone standing on the corner, put somebody in front of their goalie. Try it it would be different..

  14. Agreed with all comments that state we need to hold players accountable, but that translates 100% to weak trainer who doesn't point out weaknesses, who doesnt wake up superstars in second break in dallas and vs canes, it is totally the trainer not being assertive enough! So yes knob is on the choper!
