Other than that masterful off-side tag-up, every position for Van was incredibly sloppy and disorganised in the first period. I legit thought they were going to blow it. I sure would like to know what is ailing JT. It may not have been a very happy night without Lankinen's performance. Blueline really needs to calm down and focus. Since Feb 1 of this year, the day kuzmenko got traded, petterson has 8 goals and 26 assists in 52 games. That includes the playoffs and six games this season. Thats a 15 goal pace for 11.6 million. That’s not a slump.

Your D pair are on the same level too often in zone defending, that wasn’t a problem when your forwards not leaking out to counter attack last season. This creates a vacuum in the middle.
A quick counter attack system requires layers of pressure to react as fast as possible. Soucy and Myers pair isn’t working under this season’s counter attack philosophy. Hope to see some adjustments.
