Gamepace is to fast for the old dogs on the Roster….so practice is more of a Tea and Crumpets affair like Pre-Season was….cant burn the old Soldiers out on the March to the real Battle. Veterans dont need practice. They need rest. This Team will have to really pace itself in a balanced way .
Everyone needs practice. Not bag skates, but drills, feeling the puck, going over duties, etc. The pace they're not used to is only having 2 full months off, instead of 4, before getting back at it. They should consider it an accomplishment. The NHL doesn't give silver medals, but they should realize just getting to the finals is not a common occurrence.
For the reg. season, they gotta raise their floor, ie, minimum standards. Maintain the minimum standards while sleepwalking. And talk of firing the coach that took them to Gm7 of the finals not long ago, and had that winning streak, is ludicrous.
