  1. -When you're going to have to move onto your third head coach in five years in an effort to save your own ass & job

-When your talent level on the ice is rotting away faster than an ice cube in the Sahara

-When your Farm System is putrid and has been for the last decade

-When your big club roster lacks enough high end talent despite spending to the Cap

-When you've been. 500 since last February

-When you've been one of the worst 5×5 teams in the entire NHL since last February and are only get worse in that regard

-When you did nothing to fix those obvious problems this past offseason

-And when you've failed to win more than 1 playoff round 8 of the last 9 years…

It's beyond obvious.. The GM is the problem. That's what needs fixing.

The Hall of Fame level core Sweeney inherited of Bergeron Marchand Pasta Chara Krejci Rask and Krug all either retired, went to new teams or just got older and slower

Anyone notice that since he can't live off that core anymore that the talent level on the ice has fallen off a cliff?

Also, does anyone know the one thing that all of those players referenced have in common?

Not a single one of them was originally drafted, traded for or signed as a UFA by Don Sweeney. That high end talent was all brought to Boston originally by other Boston Bruins GMs

Sweeney has failed to properly add to that great core he was gifted back in 2015, which is why the Bruins haven't won much in the playoffs with him as GM as that core has aged out.

Their farm system is trash, he's spending to the Cap every year and the talent on the ice is only getting worse. Isn't that kind of the definition of not doing your job as GM?

And now his only fix will be firing his second coach in just five years, bringing on a third head coach in five years (which is always a sign management is the problem in any sport) and telling anyone that will listen at his Jim Montgomery firing press conference, where he'll get a pissy attitude every time he's questioned about his crap results, that everyone needs to be better.

    Except him of course.

Don Sweeney will be allowed to keep destroying the franchise from the inside out while never winning much in the playoffs, having their farm system continue to rot and pissing all their high draft capital away chasing his next playoff fail while he continues to build flawed, lower talent rosters even though he'll keep spending to the Cap's limit every season.

The Bruins are a flaming turd right now, the roster isn't anywhere near good enough, they have no cap space and again, their prospect pool is a dumpster fire.

There is a problem in Bruins Nation, it's not penalties though. It's called Don Sweeney.

Fix that at some point and maybe, just maybe the Bruins may win a 2nd round playoff series again sometime in the next decade. Maybe

  2. Guys I look at the bruins on paper. Should we really be surprised on paper that they are here, I honestly think Ottawa is better on paper.

    Marchand – Lindholm – Pasta
    Geekie – Zacha – Poitras
    Koepke – Coyle – Fredric

    As a top 9

    Or

    Tkchuck – Stuzle – Amadio
    Giroux – Norris – Batherson
    Gregor – Pinto – Perron

And defensively Ottawa going into their last game they were 6th in expected goals against per 60 5 on 5. Bruins were 24th. Goaltending you can give them the edge but by how much.

  3. I'm not gonna lie. I'm kind of happy for the change. For the last 2 years they have won October for what? Maybe this builds some resilience in the team and they go big this year!

  4. This is what happens when you ice a virtually new roster every year. How can we expect the Bs to have an identity with so many players coming and going? This is the price the organization pays when making the playoffs every single year trumps building a consistent team with consistent results. The goal shouldn’t be build a team to make the playoffs, it should be to build a team that will do something when it gets there. That can’t happen with this kind of turnover.

  5. I very much doubt they beat Toronto the way they are playing right now. They aren’t skating hard, the effort is there, too many stick penalties which are indicator not skating, too many goals from the slot, and I’ll say it. Do you think maybe they miss DeBrusk and Heinen ?
