Play Macdermid!
After getting kinda bullied the last 2 games, you’d think they would have been aware enough to play MacDermid vs Detroit. WTF are the Devils waiting for? Dillon and Kovacevic to take care of enforcer duties? Jack to throw around 165lbs? Play the F***ING guy! He doesn’t suck as bad as the crybabies and others say. He doesn’t suck at all, the guy is a role player and way better at hockey than any of the crybabies will ever be. He an NHL’er and has a purpose that not many fans nowadays understand. The Devils need a player on the ice as much as possible that is willing to level people, send them to the ice in a ball of fucking broken bones, fight and stand up to the opposing team for taking liberties. Cotter got elbowed and no one did shit. Bratt the other night. Jack (Russell) trying to be a Rottweiler and getting laughed at and called “boy” while laying on the ice. WTF. We paid for this guy, not much, but we have him so PLAY HIM! We are heavier, edgier and waiting for the more violent, but the Devils management refuses to let MacDermid loose. What did the team do when he took the first shift of the Rags game last year? Line brawl. He can bring the toughness out of this team and especially with the new additions of 11, 47, 8 and 5, these guys aren’t scared to get down, they just can’t do it the way Mac can. Bench Palat and put MacDermid in till they turn this bs around. Then keep him in. Pesce needs to teach Luke not to be a dope. First game back and he goes ahead and makes a dumb play, that he didn’t even need to do, that lead to a goal. Same old, same old? Time to smarten up Luke. It’s contract year and it’s not that hard to make intelligent passes. 3 open nets after a rebound that no one was ready for as usual. It’s every game where 2-4 possible goals aren’t scored because no one sets up for a rebound goal. Why is it so hard to have someone on the opposite side of the goal from the puck handler, waiting for the rebound?
Props to Jack for getting pissed last night. Please be careful though 🙂

This team has it, they didn’t play like dogsh*t last night. We just need More Violent on the ice to free up some space, deal with the retribution and dumb mistakes to not happen anymore. I have nothing to say about the goaltending. We all seen it.
Bro the devils in trouble. Its early but what i see is alarming. I dont even want to list my complaints but I think other fans see it as well. No need to say it. Keefe sees it as well. Yeah the refs screwed but its more then that!!

As for the Ref’s, they can all go f themselves. Dillon- Roughing and Fighting, lmao , Kovacevic getting a fighting major when his gloves are on? Not fighting? The no call on Boarding, even though it was borderline, I guess. Doomers can say the refs didn’t play a role in this game but that’s bs. They absolutely did. Mercer was an ass for the high sticking. He should know better and keep his stick down. WTF dude?

What's encouraging and frustrating at the same time is that the Devils currently have the highest GF in the NHL.
Any other night they win that game 6-3 at least. It's October so hope they can figure out the mistakes now. Didn't help that the refs were blind. Must win tonight.

The coach and team scrapped on the road. Let's see who shows up today. They got dragged into a fight and engaged. Even Jack tried acting tough, that was a start.
Listen i would love to sit here an say things are good rn and its not about jumping off a ledge but wats different rn from last year if u didnt kno they changed coaches bad goaltending defensive lapses couldldnt even score a goal at 5v5 that is extremely disappointing.. yeah the devils outshot detroit but we had only 4 more high danger chances then them thats not good enough at all there not creating grade as.. you would expect better from this team its not encouraging.. believe me i want this turned around more than anyone i cant take anymore bad hockey from this club its been to damm long..
I liked the move when they got markstrok wat worried me it that he has been inconsistent throughout his career i hope he cant turn it around hes rebound controls not great hes a little scrambly and hes not making big saves when u need them

The penalty by Mercer was one of the dumbest penalties at the worst times since Miles Wood was on the team. Sometimes I think there's just no lights on in that kid's eyes.
And worst of all: Markstrom was channeling Vitek Vanecek.
Fisher should have gotten 2 minutes for roughing. So we could have gone 4/5 on the PP and possibly still lost? Wild, doesn’t change the outcome. They need to stop the turnovers in their own zone.

Ace, I'm just venting here, but it's not that we just lose… we lose by giving up AT LEAST 4-5 goals per game. Where is the defense? Where is the almighty Markstrom?
This was a great game yeah bad turnovers and not ideal goaltending if they keep this intensity up they shall succeed. They DOMINATED this game gotta keep the legs moving LGD
Markstrom can’t make a big save when we need it. He’s constantly out of position and has trouble controlling rebounds. I have very little confidence that when the team needs to be bailed out that he will come through.
One singular positive, this may be the best Nico Hischier has ever played in his career. Bounce back tonight, get it together and build off of it. I also do enjoy seeing a coach behind the bench getting pissed off. I am not even a little bit worried, a lot of conference/division opponents also lost tonight. Just gotta learn from these games. Also need to learn how to play for a point. It was a tie game and we were pushing way too much. A win is obviously the goal, but every point matters and last season this was an issue. Tie game with 5 minutes left, we need to try to get at least 1 point. Play defensive hockey. Every point matters.
In retrospect the devils played with their 7th and 8th defenders and still managed to put up a decent showing. Trust me as a leafs diehard if we were to start like that it would be a disaster. The depth is showing it’s too early to be concerned. They have to clean up the D for sure but I think guys like Dillion and Peace once they really get comfortable won’t let them fall too far down. Guys just need to click a little more and then it’ll be fine. SCARY SCARY TEAN JUST A BAD WEEK
Definitely starting to wonder if Calgary’s hot start this year vs garbage season last year has anything to do with JM… not saying he’s not good anymore, he has had some good games for us.
I think reality is that this team needs time to gel & then be reevaluated come mid season. If Jack was producing like Nico is, it would only be covering up the real problems this team has.
That said, it’s early, but 10 games isn’t nothing. The next 10 games will tell us what this team will likely be this year: a playoff fringe team or a competitor.

Like I said in the Live, Nico has been on fire and it's outright beyond admirable his performance even during these soul crushing games. The rest of the team seriously needs to show him some respect and make things happen cause this guy couldn't be further leading by example. He's brilliant on the ice.
I'm still high on Markstrom/Allen, I love goalies but Markstrom really needs to shape things up sooner than later cause these blunders make me concerned for our eventual playoff run. Like you said the Devils are reasonably going to make it but I don't want the boys to get taken out in like a 4-1 series or something if/when Marky decides to crumple.
I still believe ace!!! We'll turn things around. Just gotta make the playoffs and be firing on all 8 cylinders at that time!

I think one main core issue with this team is inconsistency. Why is it? It’s because when we play against a hitting team we lose. We play against a small fast team we win. There is no dog in this core jack should have 100% fought that guy who hit him. Teams know nothing will happen if you slam the devils into the boards and the devils get hit hard during games and there is no response they get crushed for free. And that puts the fear into there breakout into there zone cause there scared there gonna get hit cause the team is to soft we need to man this team up and everyone needs to be a dog on the ice or this team isn’t going anywhere. Yeah maybe we make playoffs but we’re gonna get dominated in the playoffs if we don’t change. This is the straight core issue with the team if anyone doesn’t see it aswell your living in a dream and need to wake up. fits needs to turn the core into dogs or devils will just be pushovers untill we get a new core

I left the live because too much negativity. Props to Jack for making an attempt and showing some passion. I’m sorry he got upended, but I have even more respect for him as a player now, for not sitting back at that moment. I appreciate you keeping the optimism man, especially when so many are not. Like I’ve said before not interested in arguing with strangers, but those of us who still believe in this team are out here.
