Leafs MVP tonight and for the past 5 seasons…Mitch Marner. I know Leafs Nation thinks the sun shines out of Matthews' ***, but speaking as a non-Leafs fan who follows the team simply because I have to living in Ontario, Marner is beyond any doubt the Leafs' best, most complete player.
You know it appeared Marner took off on the play and Matthews thought he was on the wing to support play. But Matthews turned around and he should've just skated with it unless he was gased but this team lacks chemistry man. At the end of the day its not coaching man..these guys are pro athletes and have played with different styles of coaching many times in there life..lol It comes down to what style fits with certain players. Some guys just cant play a certain style of play. Marners pass was over hyped…it was a pass any NHLer could do. That play anyway. It was JT on the boards that made the difficult pass to him.

I am beginning to worry that maybe The Leafs dumping the puck in every time they hit the redline doesn't match the players. Berube can't just tell every player they are a power forward and move on with the day…he hasnt't changed a line, he hasn't changed the PP.

The Leafs didn't show up in the 1st period and the first half of the second. You can't score from your own end! Not sure what was going on there? No one could pass the puck accurately and if they did get a shot it was 2 feet off the mark, wide or high. The power play was a non-event, with no one in front of the goalie, and no point shots. Do they actually pay the PP coach? Maybe switch to paying per goal scored! It is a good thing Stolarz was in net. The much-maligned Mitch Marner made some great plays but he actually needs someone to pass to!! Tanev was a standout. lots of blocked shots. Mathew Knies play is a bright spot. News flash to coach Berube, you suck. Your plan isn't working. You are being out-coached and your players know it. Your PP coach needs a brain transplant. Fans in the seats need to start booing louder and more often or just stop showing up. I watched a team that looked browbeat, with no motivation to play. Send Berube to the Marlies and bring up Gruden! Sick and tired of lousy Leafs management.
