    Fun Fact: So far this season Matt Duchene has scored as many goals as Stamkos, Marchessault, Nyquist, Evangelista and Tomasino COMBINED! And we're saving, what, two million cap space from buying out Matt Duchene? Wasn't that a great move?!?!

    My first NHL game was a success! Went to the CBJ Saturday game with my wife. We got Marchy and Novak mystery pucks signed, and I bid on the Wedgewood practice signed jersey and won it! I’m the guy whose dad passed away last year that was a huge Dallas Stars fan so I’ve been kind of pulling for Wedgewood so it was a cool full circle moment. Let’s go PREDS!

    Another terrific show, especially the transition from John Cougar/John Cougar Mellencamp/John Mellencamp to Bob Seger ("turn the page", you planned that didn't you). I still have overwhelming chills thinking about Captain Shea's return here so I bet there won't be a dry eye in TB tonight

    The Preds’ had, like the 2021–22 Habs, started their current regular season with five losses, all in regulation. Three games after that, for those Habs had featured an improvement from a 0–5–0–0 win-regulation loss-OT loss-shootout loss record to 2–6–0-0. These Preds have one more win than those fans did at the same point through the regular season but those Habs would still finish that portion of that October with a rather ugly 2-8–0-0 record after a rather mixed road trip to end that month (a loss to the Kraken followed by a shutout win over the Sharks and ugly losses to the Kings and Ducks). These Preds have the potential to end this month with a 5–5–0-0 record excluding pieces and play, with respective away and home games against the Bolts and Oilers although I don’t think either win will be easy. There after all is IMO seldom such a thing as a so-called “easy game.”
