If we have to block 20-30 shots a game to win just to collapse from exhaustion down the stretch and miss the playoffs, what's the point of that? Playing playoff-level hockey is for the playoffs. Whole strategy seems self-defeating and backwards.
Big win. Good to see a defensive battle end in a shutout for Sam. This was a TEAM win 🏆
Great game by Errson. They need to stop turning over the puck so much
The PK didn't look like four individuals, but one incredible unit. Go Flyers!
Sanheim is Much better on the left side
Blocked shots!!
I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for Emil Andrae. You can see he has a different gear, I'll say. It's very noticeable. #LetsGoFlyers
Andrea looks like he belongs, more than Drysdale at this point. Hopefully Drysdale can get his game together.
Proof that goalies are the best at analyzing the game. Thank you Jason.
This is the only way the Flyers can win.
Block shots, solid goal tending and take advantage of the few scoring opportunities they will get.
They put it together last night.
Good win.
thoughts:
1) I think sometimes the risky plays are a result of losing too many board battles and not keeping plays simple, 1st period had some really tough east-west passes and over-thinking plays.
2) period 2-3 we see last year's team/effort level for the first time this season. sticks in lanes, block every shot, turn the neutral zone into a quagmire. it's ugly but this is how we win games.
3) holy shit did we just WIN A GAME IN BOSTON?
