  1. Fleury has 1/4 wins after the Wild beat St. Louis 6-2 last night, tying their series at 1 game apiece. The conditions for upgrading to a first round pick are: Fleury gets 4 wins of the 8 necessary in order to advance to the Conference finals. So long as Flower wins 3 more games, and Minnesota makes it to the 3rd round, we get a first round pick. Obviously it won’t be an extraordinarily high pick, but a first rounder nonetheless. Otherwise it is a second round pick, which I’m not too mad about, considering we got the Cat in round 2.

I am looking forward to an off-season of no Bowman and a new guy in the front office. Hopefully he doesn’t suck. I wonder what you’d have to pair with a 2nd from this for a first next year. It’s supposed to be a deep draft class.

  3. Welp, MN got eliminated, looks like we get no first rounder.

  4. gebastard

Nikita zadorov is leading in ice time for Calgary for this game 7 and has been a complete wrecking ball…. And bowman traded him for a third rounder lol

  5. cameratoo

I fucking HATE TAMPA BAY. That is all.

  6. AlleyBj

Hi folks, Oilers fan here with a few questions regarding trade value and such.

An article came out today about the hawks trading pretty well anyone on the roster. What do you guys think are reasonable (independent) asks for Debrincat and Strome respectively? Both obviously played with McDavid in junior so they could be a good fit. With that said I think the latter is far more likely. Thanks!

  7. RogueDivisionAgent

Trading DeBrincat would be Stan Bowman-level malpractice for Davidson (and should immediately result in him getting fired, imo). It would basically be the Family Guy Mystery Box bit.

« Now hold on ~~Lois~~ fans. Alex DeBrincat is great, but picks and prospects could be anything! They could even be Alex DeBrincat! »

  8. coughsicle

Damn is it just as infuriating for everyone else watching how good Byram has been on the Avs? Not like he would have made us a playoff team last year. But dude looks like a solid future elite d-man.

  9. dangshnizzle

Rundown on what 10.2(c) refers to as a player’s status?

  10. idug123

Bruins fans coming in peace and all that. Question for you guys, I remember seeing a report that the Hawks were gonna move on from both Strome and Dach this offseason, is that still the case? The bruins are criminally short on young centers with any real promise, would it be worth taking a shot on either of them?

  11. dangshnizzle

I come to this sub roughly twice a day with the same sinking feeling in my chest fearful of the inevitable top post announcing a blockbuster trade.

Chances you all think it happens on draft day?

  12. Does anyone know where Marian Hossa lives or if he’s chubby now? I just helped check someone out at a register at my store that looked like an aged Marian Hossa with a gut. He also couldn’t speak English and I should have asked him but I didn’t. I’m in Lombard, IL. He was also the correct height.

  13. OhYeahRandySavage84

Might at well trade Kane n Toews now and shoot for Connor Bedard next draft

  14. cam_barker_4_norris

Watch like Kurashev have some breakout season for 80pts and fuck us over for bedard

    1.007: Kevin Korchinski – 6’2″ 185lb Left-Handed Shot – Defenseman

    > Analysis from Doneghey: « He’s an unbelievable playmaker with the puck, gets up ice fast, he gets back for pucks fast, is really good on the power play. He’s different than a lot of the defensemen we’ve drafted in the last few years. He’s really puck-friendly. He’ll be a first-unit power-play guy, projects to be a first-pairing defenseman, can eat minutes. He’s got that long body. So I still think a ceiling is there. Character references, even from the teammates that we looked at this year. He’s a rink rat. He’s there early shooting pucks, nicknames for everybody; he’s a hockey junkie. »

    1.013 Frank Nazar – 5’10 » 180lb Right-Handed Shot – Center

    > Analysis from Doneghey: « Easy player to like. You’ve heard me say speed, speed, speed. He can absolutely fly. He makes quick plays under pressure and he’s not afraid to drive the middle of the ice on the rush, bring people with them and then bounce the puck out left or right. A lot of utility. He didn’t get a lot of power-play time this year because their top unit was excellent. Very good on the penalty kill and character, again, through the roof. Checks a lot of boxes, leadership material. »

    1.025 Sam Rinzel – 6’4″ 180lb Right-Handed Shot – Defenseman

    > Analysis from Doneghey: « We watched him in high school and it was just there was so much to like, because of his frame and his skating ability is smooth and high end. Needs to put on some weight. Confident he’ll do it. He’s more on the longer path, but there’s just so much to mold with him. The good pieces are there — the skating, the size, the right shot. He’s a little more puck-friendly than maybe some of the guys that we’ve taken. »

    2.039 Paul Lundwinski – 5’11 » 183lb Left-Handed Shot – Middle Six Center/Top-Line Winger

    > Analysis from Doneghey: « Paul is a two-way centerman. Was on Shane Wright’s team, he was the third-line center in that group. They bumped him up to wing quite a bit if they felt they needed to get Shane going a little bit. He’s got some snarl in his game, inside, good offense. I think his offensive numbers will be better when he gets more opportunity next year, whether Shane’s there or not, he might move up into that role. He’s very good on the penalty kill. Oozes character. He’s got that look in his eye, like you win with those type of guys. »

    2.057 Ryan Greene – 6’2″ 179lb Right-Handed Shot – Center

    > Analysis from Doneghey: « We talked about centers, speed down the middle, a lot of value with a right-shot center. I don’t want to say he’s playing the long game like Sam Rinzel is, but he’s got to get a little stronger physically but he’s got the frame to carry a little bit more. Skating’s really strong. Competitive, character. »

    3.066 Gavin Hayes – 6’2″ 177lb Right-Handed Shot – (Left) Winger

    > Analysis from Doneghey: « This year in Flint, he didn’t get a lot of opportunity early. He had to keep proving himself night after night. [Former Rockford IceHogs head coach] Ted Dent made him earn his strives. It didn’t go great for Gavin all the way along, especially at the beginning, and he wasn’t knocking on coaches doors or any of that type of stuff, he took it upon himself to figure it out and he did. One thing that resonates with me, I was at a game this year where he set the Flint record for points in a game. He had two goals and four assists, and it wasn’t off the shinpad or it wasn’t a dump-in that the scorekeeper just gave him an assist. It was two goals and four primary assists. He’s got sneaky skill. He can shoot a puck. »

    3.081 Samuel Savoie – 5’10 » 190lb Left-Handed Shot – Two-Way Forward (Any Position)

    > Analysis from Doneghey: « Samuel is just a ball of energy. A thick, big motor. Played some wing this year but he also got bumped in the middle. Total character. If you can think like a Yanni Gourde-type player, just speed, speed, relentless, just gets after it. »

    3.090 Aidan Thompson – 5’11 » 180lb Overager (20) Left-Handed Shot – Center

    > Analysis from Doneghey: « Samuel is just a ball of energy. A thick, big motor. Played some wing this year but he also got bumped in the middle. Total character. If you can think like a Yanni Gourde-type player, just speed, speed, relentless, just gets after it. »

    6.173 Dominic James – 5’11 » 165lb Left-Handed Shot – Forward (Any Position)

    > Analysis from Doneghey: « [Associate GM] Norm Maciver saw him a lot. He was able to see Dominic quite a bit. Feisty, competitive, north-south winger and has an inside game.

    6.188 Nils Juntorp – 6’1 » 185lb Right-Handed Shot – Winger

    > Analysis from Doneghey: « Speed is his whole game. He’s an up-down winger, speed, fast on the forecheck. »

    7.199 Riku Tohila – ~~6’5″~~ 6’8″ 190lb+… dude grew – Right-Handed Shot – Center

    > Analysis from Doneghey: « I’ve never seen him play, but our Finnish scout Mikko Luoma [has]. This kid comes from a small town, very behind the curve. He’s 6-8 who’s a right-hand center, very naive, very behind the curve but the value of the skating and obviously the size, I respect what Mikko’s thoughts on him. »

  16. nascar991134

I really liked the Frank Nazar, Gavin Hayes, and Dominic James picks. Coincidentally all 3 are Michiganders. Ludwinski is a risky gamble that high, gotta hope he pops off in his D+1.

  17. StonedSquare

    Rocky should have retired already.

  18. MostMirror

I realized looking at the roster today that the Blackhawks have to sign at least two forwards in free agency. They have 12 NHL forwards signed now (and that’s including Khaira). I don’t really see anyone in Rockford except for maybe Slavin that is ready to be a full-time NHL player.

  19. adamempathy

There is a Domi in an Indian head sweater. Probert is spinning in his grave.

  20. TheOlSneakyPete

As of right now, I actually don’t think our D looks that bad. Jones-Murphy is a good top line. Murphy slumped a little last year, i think he’ll bounce back.

McCabe-C Jones. I think both will be better than last year, McCabe was learning a new system/injuries. Caleb looked much better and took big strides at the end off last season. I think 2022-2023 he could be in a position to pop off and show some real improvement.

Have we heard any update on C Jones’s injury?

Last 2 we have Stillman, who is the only physical player we have and his defense did improve last year so he is more than a traffic cone, and the last spot will either be a FA on a prove it contract we can trade at the deadline or a rotation on young guys.

I think we will be middle (18-26of the pack on defense this year, is that crazy?

I could see Murphy or McCabe being traded at the deadline if they are having a decent year.

  21. sandman730

Players from the 2019-20 Blackhawks still on the team: Kane, Toews, Murphy, Sikura, Beaudin

  22. OneGoal1988

So how soon before I should start drinking?

  23. dangshnizzle

Kirby Dach has still not signed with the Canadiens. In theory wouldn’t this be like the absolute perfect time for the Hawks to offer sheet him? $2,055,364 – $4,110,732 for a 2nd round pick while they simply can’t match it?
