It would be amaze to see this man at a game.
There’s a small Portuguese community in Van. My cousin’s neighbours in East Van are immigrants from the Azores, I think they came in the 70s. They have a flagpole with a Portuguese flag flying in their backyard.
I wonder if it has anything to do with Nelly Furtado, pretty sure her family is from there
The Azores are beautiful, but I don’t remember seeing much Canucks support out there (unfortunately).
Just chiming in to say Azores was one of the best places I’ve ever been to.

Extremely high taste in YouTube channels, OP. Rare Earth is one of my very favorites. Chris has a certain way of telling stories that’s just deeply engaging to me.

As a Portuguese Vancouverite, I know many of us here whose families came from the Azores that go back and visit semi-regularly, so I don’t think it is impossible that they would bring Vancouver adjacent souvenirs
So weird, I’m an Indiana Jones fanatic and over the weekend I started to re-play Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis for the hundredth time and saw that a small part of the game takes place in Azores. I was going to research this island as I had never heard of it. It looks like you’ve done the job for me thanks! I would have never expected this from the r/canucks thread.
That’s how I got here. My ancestors migrated from the Azores to Hawaii in the 1800’s. Wild intersection of life and recreation!
