That first crack of a can of beer opening echoes off of the walls in your home as you get comfortable on the couch. Players way better than you in Jets jerseys fighting for roster spots. You can feel the excitement building as the players line up and the linesman fondles the rubber disk.

Puck drop, only 1 sleep away.

As of right now the Jets haven’t announced their preseason roster. Last year they announced it Sept.13th. They had 45 players in camp. 23 forwards, 17 dmen and 5 goalies. 7 of the 45 players were not under contract.

Jets currently have 45 players under contract. As far as I can tell every signed player should be in training camp except for Elias Salomonsson. He’s not at the Young Stars Classic so I figure he’s in Sweden.

According to the “veteran” rule for preseason games where you must have a minimum of 8 dressed every game the following signed players qualify. Note Jets have not announced any PTO’s or unsigned roster invitees but I’m going to go ahead and assume Lambert will be in camp

    Forwards

    Wheeler
    Connor
    Scheifele
    Ehlers
    Dubois
    Lowry
    Appleton
    Harkins
    Toninato
    Gagner
    Lambert

    Defense

    Morrissey
    Schmidt
    Pionk
    Dillon
    DeMelo
    Stanley
    Capobianco

    Goalies

    Hellebuyck
    Rittich

A preseason player is considered a veteran if they meet any one of the following criteria:

Skater who played 30 NHL games the previous season or 100 career games. Goalies who dressed in 50 NHL career games, or played in 30 NHL games the previous year. A current year first round pick (2022).

Question: in years past, did fan fest included public viewing of training camp ice times?

  4. Spencie-cat

Oh I thought they said FAT fest and my parents were sending me to that camp again…..

  5. A week out from training camp starting and we still don’t know who the play by play voice is going to be this year. Maybe they forgot Beyak retired?

Will the young stars games be streamed anywhere?

  7. choosingforyou

Where do we think Chaz Lucius plays this year? The Moose?

Idk what my deal is, but whenever there’s an r/hockey « who’s underrated/who will pop off » post and some Habs fan goes in with « Caulfield » I immediately downvote so hard. Nothing against Caulfield I just feel the Habs have been tooting his horn too hard for what he’s proven to be.

So I was right, somebody offered Rodrigues a nice deal at 3 years and $10.5 total. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was us and that’s part of the reason he turned it down.

From the Athletic’s NHL player rankings article, highest ranked Jet is Kyle Connor as a « Tier 3C » (All-star player):

    >And Connor, as ever, is the most interesting case. We’ve said before that he’s Phil Kessel 2.0, down to his brutal defensive reputation:

    >“Kyle Connor is going to make a lot of money and lose a lot of hockey games,” an analyst said. “He has a more well-rounded offensive game than I thought, but the defense is as bad as I thought.”

    Other Jets:

    Nikolaj Ehlers (Tier 3C – all-star player)

Mark Scheifele (Tier 4C – top of lineup player)

Are preseason games worth going to? I’m thinking about going to the last one against the flames but idk if their worth it or not.

Seems pretty likely that Dan Robertson, previously of TSN690 and the Canadiens English broadcasts, is going to be our new play-by-play person.

I checked quickly on Wikipedia and it doesn’t seem like any team is looking for a television pxp person other than the Jets.

Haven’t ever heard him call a game, but from what I’ve seen so far it’s mostly been people lamenting what a loss it will be for TSN690 and the Canadiens.

I think HangarHockey may be the most annoying and obnoxious account on Jets twitter. They are insufferable

Can someone just break into chevys office grab his phone and trade Stanley for future considerations just so we never have to deal with him touching the ice ever again please

If I have to suffer through another season of him getting ice time over our other young defensive prospects I might actually have to stop watching

  15. CoryTrevors69

will the young stars games be televised?
