Cela doit changer. 1. Sorry, but not cross state rivals with the Lightning. The Panthers have never, ever, ever, ever won a meaningful game vs Tampa, and until they do they can't be called 'rivals'.

  2. I'm not sure is he saying peeing or keying? I'm thinking of that Calvin Meme of him doing that now heh. I never thought Panthers had a chance even many of the fans trying to reply to me calling them out losing 10 2 to worse team in NHL Lottery Winning Montreal compared to them "Winning President" Trophy heh. Much of that was Colorado sorta tanking or not wanting to win it again I think. What About Bob? I can't see them winning with him having a 10M cap hit even if I read they are trying to trade him or replace with Knight. Last time they benched him he played so poorly so its like tough to trust him moving forward. I can see this team missing Post Season as I think they need a new coach unless can have Joel Q return heh.

  3. You could tell by the number of shots off posts that tmp goalie had them shooting for corners. He is a big man but also seemed to always be on the right place which again made the panthers shoot and pass off normally great scoring chances. No puck bounces went their way either…

  4. I'm going to make comment here because I hear alot of mentions of tampa being sluggish against toronto? Maybe toronto pushed tampa harder than Florida did they were on top of tampas forwards alot more than Florida was and alot more willingness to go into shooting lanes . Most of torontos goals were coming from good playoff style goals, secondary chances from rebounds or tip ins or battles fought in corner and brought to middle. Yes bad calls and missed calls happen but you need to keep your cool in those situations toronto failed in that regard. Everyone saying oh stammer and kucherov had golden chances but didn't bury, and yes that's true but could it be true that the tampa passer was pressured hard and couldn't get good pass off and kucherov had his stick motion blocked by toronto to prevent that goal…… toronto played tampa alot hard and earned their loss alot more than Florida did I'm extremely proud of him they played, toronto tampa was great series

  5. There were a lot of things that went wrong against Tampa (such as horrible special teams and Brunette being outcoached), but one less talked about thing I'd point out is the 3rd line falling apart and how much it hurt us. Our n.1 strength all regular season was that you couldn't shut down the whole team – if you shut down line 1, line 2 would produce; if you shut down lines 1 and 2, line 3 would pick up. If the top 3 lines were not going, line 4 would still occasionally pick up the slack, but our biggest advantage was that we essentially had a first line and two second lines – until suddenly, we didn't.

And I'm honestly not sure that this was preventable? Marchment getting hurt was bad luck, but more importantly, Lundell (who was an impact guy for us in the regular season) just disappeared come playoffs. And it's not on him – the kid is 20, it's his first NHL season, he has exceeded all expectations this year – but we needed scoring from our "depth guys" and it didn't happen.

If there's a guy from the "depth group that I'm looking at, it's Duclair. He didn't show up last playoffs either and he has no excuse for it. He's been brilliant for us in the regular season, but if he can't perform come playoff time, should he be on the team?

Curious to see what Zito does with all this.

  6. Panthers should 100% make a massive push to keep girioux. He molded so well on the team and looked incredible. I’d like to see a smarter system implemented on the team, too often the team was pushing too hard for offense and lacking defense and ultimately it cost us. The penalties we had in the playoffs absolutely killed every ounce of momentum we had. Disciplined play and defensive structure is what we need.

  7. Panthers should trade Jonathan Huberdeau to Columbus Blue Jackets for Patrik Laine. Both players need a change of scenery. The reason Panthers should get Laine is that both Laine and Barkov were born and grew up in the same town of Tampere, Finland. Both players are good friends and practice together in Finland every offseason. Barkov and Laine together would be incredible because both players are close. Can you imagine first line being Laine, Barkov, Verhaghe?

As for Huberdeau, it is clearly obvious he had a bad attitude in the playoffs. He was very disappointing. Mr. “Who Care’s” is not what this team needs in the locker room. Panthers should trade him now while he has extreme value and 1 year left on a expiring contract. Huberdeau is not worth 10 million a year. I’m sorry. Panthers need to shake up their core a little and Huberdeau is the guy that needs to go.

Laine for Huberdeau! Make it happen Bill Zito

  8. The florida panthers were overrated throughout the season.

    Change my mind

  9. My honest opinion is just that they put it all in that series against Washington and ran out of gas when it came time to play Tampa. Like you said, all the forwards had issues in the series, and I think it was just due to being tired after playing hard all season to get that Presidents Trophy, and then having a tough series against Washington. I really hope they do learn from this year and build on it.

  10. So based on playoff history
    2020: Qualifying round exit
    2021: First round exit
    2022: Second round exit
    2023: Probably 3rd round exit
2024: We did it boys we’re the Stanley Cup Champions

  11. The Powerplay is the single reason they didn’t win. Like how do you score 1 PP goal through 2 rounds? Should’ve put Hornqvist I front of the net the entirety of the playoffs..guy is a specialty player in that situation. Didn’t help that Vasy is just too good.

  12. I really enjoyed your analysis but I really think it can be broken down to one word. Vasilevskiy .

  13. I never seriously thought of the Panthers as contenders this year. A great regular season doesn't always mean instant playoff success (as an Avs fan I can attest to this). Tampa also had a long trajectory to becoming the animal they are now. So to expect success in Florida after a couple of seasons making it to the postseason is a bit of a reach. Not many teams that win in the playoffs did so without the pain of losing for years before.

  14. I just turned 21 watching this video, I totally forgot what time it was and that I was having a bad night before. I really love what you do shannon, keep up the great work, love the videos <3

  15. Florida were a Paper Tiger all year. They had an easy first round match up ….that's it

  16. Gotta talk about coaching. A rookie/intern coach was the main reason they lost in my opinion. Cooper ran circles around him. They need someone with experience in there bc they just weren’t prepared to play playoff hockey.

  17. I think we trade Weegar to make the room to bring back Chiarot. Duke could be on the move, and as much as I wouldn’t like it Hornqvist could be as well ($5M is $5M). If Horny is moved I expect Giroux back.

  18. I think the way Florida and Toronto played against the defending champs shows that Toronto is a lot closer to contending than Florida. They need to stop relying on the comeback and the transition game to win, because Tampa was able to shut down both of those pretty easily. They, uh, also could use some better special teams

  19. this series gave me some real hope for the bolts to be able to three peat they absolutely shut down the top offensive team in the league without our top forward, if vasy stays in his mode and the bolts keep executing I can surely see a three peat. when it comes to the panthers they tried to go all in this year but they won’t be as deep as they were this year but they do have that core so they still have a chance.

  20. Barkov needs to be stripped of the C and we need a new coach who is not afraid to get mad at poor plays. This would probably fix a good chunk of our problems.

  21. They were lucky to get out of the first round. If it weren't for a couple of collapses by Washington they would have been bounced then. Their offense in the playoffs was abysmal especially on the power play. Not sure if it was mental toughness or what but maybe the experience will make them play with more fire next year.

  22. Only slightly disagree about charat I think he held the blue line together for us when ekblad was out for the end of the season. Also in the playoffs he seemed like he was the only only one that was willing to fight for the win.

  23. Rumours swirling that Giroux wants to be around the Ottawa-Gatineau area and the Senators are looking to take on salary this year, so maybe that's a match made in cap heaven.

  24. im a little surprised you didnt talk about bruno on the bench here at all with the "interm" tag he has. feel like that's a big part of their offseason looks and where they go with their team direction in the coming years. obviously this year was an eggs in one basket type deal but I think they can stick around and be a powerhouse if they make the right moves.

  25. I think Barkov’s words are quite telling when he said after the first round win that he doesn’t know what to think now (or something in those lines).

  26. Goaltending and grit. That's what they are missing. They aren't the great team everyone thought they were

  27. I think the playoffs showed how outclassed brunette was as our coach. We made little adjustments. Our powerplay was atrocious and every set up was about the exact same, regardless of if we had ekblad out there or 5 forwards. He allowed weegar to make multiple mistakes throughout both series, in my opinion montour should’ve replaced his minutes. And healthy scratching Duclair was the wrong move, especially since he was one of the few willing to shoot on the powerplay, yet his first adjustment were to take him off the powerplay and then ultimately scratch him. Even against Washington we rarely had adjustments to getting through the neutral zone. Ultimately players need to play, but after regular season I was thinking we should resign brunette based off the success. But this team was going to perform regardless in the regular season, the post season was where coaching made a difference and sadly after 26 years it made the wrong difference.

  28. Floroda need to get a real coach. Im not a fan of coach Q, but I think its easy to assume they would have done better with behind the bench. And assuming that would probably be well justified.

  29. No shame in losing to TB… getting swept is beyond inexcusable with that much talent. As a Colorado fan with no dog in this fight-I never bought into Florida,& when we knew the matchups,I said the Toronto-TB winner-which I picked TB -wouldnt have quite as tough of time with Florida-as they had in the 1st round. But I still never imagined it could be a sweep.

  30. It's not that we think Giroux is a loser-its just kind of karma, after he refused to consider anywhere else, cuz it sounds like he was more concerned about being on the top line, top PP,etc…than the good of the team or winning a Cup. And he screwed Philly in the process, forcing them to take an inferior deal. That's fine,he earned that right, but also makes me wonder about what your top priorities really were.

And I think with Florida, they built bad habits during the regular season,by falling behind early,& not playing complete games often. But cuz of their talent, they'd usually come back. I'm not saying it was direct cause,& effect…but that egregious mistake that cost them game 2…kinda symbolic of this… basically Florida in a microcosm.

  31. I would like Florida to have more defensively minded d-men in their team. They have all the firepower in the world upfront and give up a ton of goals which is usually bad for playoffs.
Chiarot is likely gone and that leaves only Gudas (who was good this season imho). I would like to see them keep Lindbohm as he is more of a defensive d-man who would add more physical play to Panthers.

  32. When the coach has no answers, how can the team ? Barkov also is soft for a captain and he disappeared in the playoffs so what can we expect the rest of the team to do?

  33. I think they should keep Acciari and let Luostorinen go. They need to revamp the defensive lines. Get some more brawlers like Gudas. Also their philosophy of setting up the perfect pass for the perfect shot needs to stop. They need to take a page from the lighting and find one timers in the slot or crash the net

  34. Not having marchment against Tampa hurt a little I think. He was big enough and had good enough hands to open up more room for the better guys imo
