  1. How can I say this without sounding like a hater.. vassy is half the size of the net with equipment 4x bigger than himself and he’s big enough already lol I’m a Pittsburgh fan and if anything my pens still own the lightening they still haven’t got revenge on the 2016 L my team gave them, but hear me out vassy has got some big ass equipment, can he make those saves with the regular equipment instead of specifically getting enlarged equipment from Russia ever since he was 15, so pretty much without that big ass equipment he wouldn’t be as good because he doesn’t have to move literally, a decent goaltender but just the same size as the net he ain’t nothing special lol he can kick his leg out and stop an open net once in a while but for the most part it’s the hedman and sergachevs and all the great defense he has in front of him, and vassy big ass equipment that’s a good half his size lol

  2. I grew up in Tampa and watched the lightning a lot since around 2012. It’s incredible how much they’ve grown and improved since their 2015 Stanley cup final loss while pretty much staying the same core team. Most NHL teams look unrecognizable 6-7 years ago but the lightning have been able to pull it off. It’s also important to mention Tampa has really good ownership & management that rarely leads to good players wanting to leave.

  3. yes the lgihtning will win a third cup in a row simply because theres no suited contenders left, or anyone to give them any resistance

  4. Their SECRET is they manipulate the salary cap with bogus injured reserve players during the regular season…then bring the entire team back for the playoffs where there is NO salary cap. They CHEAT!

  5. Cooper is always the overlooked part, guy comes up to the big league with a bunch of young guns he coached in a lower league high flying big offense style, and that epic flameout in 2019. then he is smart enough to change his system and convince the big names on the team to buy in, thats incredible coaching and trust building before you get to him and his staff adjusting on the fly. yea it helps to have arguably the best goalie in the league, and in closeout games the best in the last few years minding the net.

  6. Stop with the constant mentioning of Tampa's cheating on the cap limit in 2021. They were within the rules, not the first to use this to their advantage and won't be the last unless the rule is changed. Most teams maganements are in favor of this rule, so don't expect a change. It simply remains the losers whining about why they lost. Get over it.

  7. Great video! As long time lightning fan, there were legit concerns that Cooper was one dimensional earlier on in his tenure. But as you said, it's a copycat league. And being a student of the game, Cooper 'stole' tactics here and there from other coaches that gave him the most trouble in past playoffs such as Babcock, Q, Trotz, Sullivan, and Torts, and then got the players to execute them better.

  8. Other than the Lighting winning , there is nothing sweeter than a Stamkos one timer 👍🏒🏒🏒🏒

  9. Great review 👍, Tampa players like point, vasy, and kucherov took a paycut to have good players to stay with Tampa. Tom Brady and Mike Evans did the same.

  10. I feel like a part of why their nz trap is so dangerous is at times it is more like a 1-3-1 sometimes it’s a 1-4 sometimes it’s a 1-1-3 it is like the players feel where each other are and just find the system they are closest to positioning wise and just take away as many options and space as they can. It felt like in the Florida series they changed systems like that based on who the panthers had on the ice and really just smothered everything in the nz but didn’t get too Aggro let their chances come from mistakes not forcing too much.

  11. Great video!
Except the whole "cap circumvention". Live by the rules, die by the rules. A rule Tampa tried to close years ago.

  12. Lightning got destroyed last night .
Just a little preview of whats to come . Gonna be a rangers sweep.

  13. that sacrifice though…. you see TBL players limping off the ice more than almost any other team from blocked shots… they'd rather break a bone than to give up a goal (hyperbole but not really)… that said, I really hope the Rangers beat them because I grew up in NY.

  14. A good goalie, a good coach and bettman who totally doesn’t rig the league for them

  15. Um, they don't? Their records have proved it. When the league doesn't give them cookies, they don't win. Like…ever.

Let's go back to 04 and WHY we had a lockout; this team was handed the Cup; they have yet to do it without something (the league) giving them their wins. They never earned anything.

  16. Let's go for 3 once again the biggest congratulations to the Tampa bay lightning!!! Love from Canada

  17. Would love to see you breakdown just what changed between Game 2 after the Rangers' win to go up 2-0.

  18. I love The Lightning. I live in Florida. Born amd raised. I find it funny that the sunshine state had one of the best Ice Hockey teams in the country

  19. Except for one team. The AVS are sorely underestimated and probably the fastest team ever put together.
