Hey man great vid! As a loyal Devils fan I agree with your comparison 100%. People fail to recognize that Gm Fitzgerald was hurt from the start due to gm Shero. Shero left Fitz with a shitshow of a lineup and Fitzgerald had to fix everything basically. The moves he has made has objectively helped us but beacuse of goaltending we suffered. But it's a blessing because we got Nemec out of it. The devils future is bright!
Agreed. Luke is our makar (Undeniably has the all the skill to become that level) Simon nemec will be our devon toews with great twoway game. The prospect pool besides top 3 is underrated. As long as a couple work out we should have a couple 2nd line caliber players like gritsuk playing 3rd line. In the next 4 years i think we will have a cup. In year 3 or 4 depending on how fast our players develop, depth too (I have no doubt luke and nemec will develop) even more likely to win if we can make a trade for star player like meier (hischier) or pasta
Just wanna throw in there that even besides Nemec and Luke Hughes, the Devils prospect pool is still insane. Holtz, Foot, Zetterlund, Gritsyuk, Walsh, Bahl, of course Nico Daws (but he may not be considered one anymore), even Stillman has looked decent, Casey and Mukhamadullin, Tyce Thompson looks good, Graeme Clarke too. And thats on top of our young promising NHL core already. Im not sure if Colorado's prospect pool was that good when they were in our position.
This season (22-23) will possibly see the Devils squeak into the playoffs but next year (23-24) will see the Devils really turning heads with players like Hotlz, L. Hughes, Nemec and Bahl ready to be full time players. We’ll also have a better idea of what Blackwood is as a goaltender, hint: he’s a lot better than most people realize.
