  1. O say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave

  2. Even though I can’t stand NBC Sports broadcasters I’m glad this was a night NBCSN got to air this nationally! Now America can see that when somebody tries to bomb our city we don’t fucking tolerate it!

  3. I’ve often had the opinion of that each major sports team should pick a day where the crowd is the voice of the national anthem once every year, such as the Bruins having the crowd be the voice of the national anthem every April 17th.

  4. "Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave! For the land of the free and the home of the brave!!!".
God bless America. Truly the land of the free, and home of the brave.

  5. Rene Rancourt said he was unsure if he could sing …. then as soon as he heard the crowd, he just became the conductor.

  6. 8 years later and I still cry watching this. Boston Strong.

  7. As a Canadian, this made me ball my eyes out even 2021

  8. When they hit "o'er the land of the free" note, that's what does it, a tear everytime!! So amazing and powerful. You can hear right when he stops singing and they all realized it at "what so proudly we hailed" it just goes from some singing to the entire crowd and just gets so loud!! Beautiful all the way through!!!

  9. I’m not American but I cannot deny that hearing the crowd in union sing together after such a tragedy is just beautiful

  10. I cry every time I watch this shit, the national anthem hits different when everyone is singing specially after such a horrible event

  11. It’s been over 8 years. One of the greatest Boston moments I’ve ever witnessed.

  12. The day ice hockey resumes in the city of Boston Massachusetts a tearful moment after the Boston marathon bombers went down

  13. I can't believe it's already been nine years. Man does time really fly. The Boston Marathon Bombings occurred when I was seven, and while I may have only experienced it through a television screen, it affected my life in ways I could never imagine. I remember everything from that day, even all these years later. That day, I learned my most important lesson, one that would impact my life greater than I had ever imagined. I learned the true abilities of the human psyche, both of how awful it can be and how amazing they it be. I learned about violence, hate, and terrorism but also love, community, and strength. And while I didn't know it then, this pushed me torwards a career in medicine and torwards the hospital and city I grew to love as a pediatric cancer survivor. Without the events of that day, I don't know what I would be like today or if I would have as much thrust as I do now, fighting everyday; until every child is well. #bostonstrong

  14. 3:51. The morning after this was broadcast… it was replayed by Colin Cowherd on his show. That's how I first saw it.

Rene was struggling… trying to get thru it.

Colin Cowherd replayed the Anthem portion on his show the next day… for those who didn't see the hockey broadcast.

As Colin explained… Rene Rancourt was struggling when we was warming up before he went out to petform… he couldn't get thru it.

He tried anyway. It almost feels like the crowd could sense he needed them to pick up the Anthem as his voice faltered out.

I can't be the only one that tears up when the crowd picks him up almost seemlessly when Rancourt's voice fails him.

The ultimate "You're not alone tonight" energy.
