52 save shutout. Look that up. That, or better, has only happened 8 times in NHL history. 9 times now. There have been roughly 60,000 nhl games played ever both regular season and playoffs, and it's only happened 9 times total.
All it took was 1 Beast Mode performance from Casey DeSmith and I am back to being confident with our goaltending heading into the playoffs. And speaking of Beast Mode, Jake Guentzel! Hat trick to go with his 2nd 40 goal season! Monster!!!
Hell of a game for a lot of players but Guentzel and Desmith really stood out. But, I will have to disagree on the three stars of the game. Guentzel had a hell of of game with 2 beautiful goals and an empty net goal, but the 52 saves to me outshines Guentzel's performance. Some may disagree, some may say who cares, but I'm sure Desmith would have preferred to hear his name announced as the 1st star rather than 2nd after a performance like that. My two cents' worth.
Great performance by DeSmith but the B's have had multiple games of really high SOG's now without the conversions to show for it. We really, really need some scorers.
I've been critical of Casey DeSmith in other videos, but go ahead and have yourself a night young man. What a performance against a playoff bound team, I was very impressed with crease play tonight
Great win, but 2 points: 1. I know they scored 4 but they just don’t lift the puck into the top corners as much as they should. Too many flat shots along the ice or into the goalie’s body. This will hurt them in the playoffs.
2 Gotta find a replacement for Brian Dumoulin… he’s awful.
My team lost. They were outplayed a bit but the goal tending determined this outcome. Nothing against Swayman though. 🐻 wait til they get their injured list cleared.
