  1. I'm glad you included Jared Mcissac in the top 5. Hopefully, he makes a full recovery and stays healthy. I could see Steve Yzerman drafting Jesper Wallstedt if they draft outside of the top 3. Also, if the Detroit Red Wings get lucky in the 2022 draft and wins the draft lottery and drafts Shane Wright, I could see Detroit's future line-up looking like this several years down the road.

    Raymond Wright Zadina
    Bertuzzi Larkin Mantha
    Berggren Veleno Niederbach
    Rasmussen Soderblom Mastrosimone

    Wallinder Seider
    Mcissac Hronek
    Johansson Tuomisto
    Lindstrom

    Wallstedt
    Larsson

This line-up is excluding several players and prospects like, Fabbri, Cholowski, Svechnikov, etc.

  2. Why does alot a people forgot about Albert Johansson.. I'd 100% have him in the top 5. Should become a very solid top 4 D-Man. Very mobile, great hands, smart defenseman, who can attack and act like a 4th forward but is still pretty solid defensively.. IMO he would pair perfectly with Moritz Seider in the top 4 in a couple years..

  3. I like Jared McIsaac a lot but sadly I don’t know if his injuries will keep him in this system or as an NHL player. Just too injury prone.

  4. I’m just sayin we did get Stevie himself at 4 th overall … so yeah I’m pretty excited about Raymond.

  5. All great prospect, but i dont agree on list. I think Veleno and Mcissac are both great prospects, but to me A.Johansson, Niederbach are better prospect. Veleno might even be a bust. He has shown flashes of great plays, but many times shown the typical "bust" moments. He has gotten more time to develop than those 2 and he has developed a bit slow. Johansson is developing far faster. And hopefully Niederbach can do the same next year. Other than that the list is accurate imo, but i would swap place with Seider and Raymond.

  6. Seider is underrated by almost all fans. Future leadership material and selfless hard worker. And good puck skills. Does all the little things well to stop the other team scoring and easily overpowers most opponents. The next Colton Parayko imo. I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be the best player from the 2019 draft. Him, Zegras or McMichael.

  7. I’d have to argue mc isn’t 5th just because of injuries And would be probably replaced in my list by Defense lindstrom or wallinder or goalie Keith petruzzelli who is playing very well in the ncaa posting a 1.86 GAA and .931 SV%

  8. I agree with a lot of people here. McIsaac is going to have to prove he can stay healthy before I put him in the top five. I wouldn't make too huge of changes to your list past that. Seider, Raymond, Berggren, Veleno, and possibly Soderblom. Fifth is hard for me because I haven't seen Wallinder yet and some other WJC participants really impressed me (i.e. Niederbach, Johansson, Viro). Also, I want to give Petruzelli some love. He doesn't belong in the top five, but he seems to have become a consistently good NCAA goalie. Maybe he doesn't hit a brick wall in Grand Rapids in 21-22 like Larsson did.

Last note: I put Seider ahead of Raymond mostly because he has less potential to realize before he is contributing at the level he projects. Raymond may have a higher ceiling in the end, but he still has longer to go to get to it which means there is a larger chance of him not doing so.

  9. My personal rankings:

    1. Moritz Seider – Guy is going to be that all around 25 minutes/night defenseman that wins championships and I could see him winning a Norris sometime in his career. He is also showing that he has offensive potential after being deemed a defensive d-man pre-draft.

    2. Lucas Raymond – Probably the most skilled prospect in the system he has the potential to be a 70 point two-way winger.

    3. Joe Veleno – Struggled at the beginning of last season but went to the world juniors and played extremely well, and kept up that play when he returned to Grand Rapids. Has the potential to be a Bo Horvat type two-way centerman.

    4. Jonatan Berggren – Very skilled crafty winger. After battling with injuries each season post-draft he is really coming into his own this year. Very dominant puck possession player and has very good vision with the puck and very good on the powerplay. Very similar player to Gustav Nyquist but not as good of a shot.

    5. Antti Tuomisto – Was punching below his weight class last year in the Finland Jr. leagues but absolutely dominated looking like a man amongst boys. Has an elite level shot and is a very good puck mover and is very physical. Has transitioned nicely to NCAA hockey and looks to be a solid two-way guy with powerplay and penalty kill upside.

  10. The biggest addition to the Wings during the rebuild is none other… Steve Yzerman as the GM.

  11. Hey, great Video Dude! Can I use your short Highlight Clip of Moritz Seider in one of my Videos? I'm working on a Video "German Players in other Leagues". If not it's okay, then I need to cut them myself. I would mention you in my video. if it's okay.

  12. Not sold anymore about Veleno. Yes a good player but Steve is wheeling and dealing for players and appears to be making sound picks. Joe may eventually be a solid NHL player for 3rd line but it may not be in Detroit.

  13. Most excited about Berggren and Seider joining the Red Wings, as I think they are the closest in their development to taking that next step. I'm also surprised no one ever mentions unsigned goalie prospect Keith Petruzelli, who has a 1.75 GAA and a .929 SV% in his senior year at Quinnipiac. The Wings haven't successfully groomed a goalie to the NHL level since Petr Mrazek. :/

  14. It's annoying that you're talking about Veleno as a two-way centerman and then just show him score goals. That's not the aspect I would show, if I would show people why this guy is a top-5 prospect in DRW. Show him backcheking, closing down lines, blocking shots, taking away pucks. Not five goals that show next to nothing about him.

  15. Raymond, Soderblom, Niederbach, Berggren, Johansson, Wallinder, Grewe.. who am I missing? aye, Brome.

  16. Detroit has done a good job treating this covid season as a buffer, letting their prospects brew for what's to come.

  17. Blashill needs to be fired already! He has mismatched his lines all season. He’s played trash Can Dan DeKeyser all year, instead of giving guys like Cholowski more TOI. Detroit needs to let the kids play! I was hoping to see guys like Seider and Veleno, but that’s obviously not going to happen.

  18. I would switch Raymond with Seider. But it is very close. If he stays healthy Seider is instantly our No. 1 Defenseman

  19. We have a ton of draft picks in 2021 and 2022. So whatever players don't pane out, we will have other options to try and fill out the Red Wings NHL roster. We don't have to depend on winning the draft lottery, like we've hoped for in the past. When the Red Wings do start to make a move to compete for the play offs, we can add a free agent signing, to fill out a hole or two in the line up.

  20. Im cruious, how do you american / canadian hockey fans rate SHL? would you rather a player go there or elsewhere for experience prior to the NHL?

  21. The Red Wings have always liked Swedish players. My favorite lineup was the 08 cup win with my favorite underrated player Hank Zetterberg, best defenseman ever Lidstrom, great hitter Kronwall, and a good power forward in Johan Franzen.

  22. Veleno, he played well during his time up. Plus he was expecting to go higher in the draft, he has a chip on his shoulder.
