  1. I think the blues have the ability to get past the 1st round every year it’s gonna be those 2nd and 3rd rounds that will test to see if the new roster is good enough to go farther

  2. Good analysis. As a blues fan I think you hit most points. This year isn't a "shoe in" for a good season losing perron and Husso…but we've got a lot of good younger guys that may step up as well as the addition of Noel Acciairi should help

  3. Big Blues fan, however I think this is going to be a rough season thats going to end with the Blues looking to rebuild at the end. A lot is riding on Binnington. If the Binnington of the playoffs shows up we will be ok. If the season Binnington shows up were in big big trouble. In my opinion the window is closed

  4. Tarasenko is a real wild card with the team. Because he's their best point producer, it's hard to let him go; but he's angry with the medical staff, and by extension the front office. They may well let him play out his contract and then just say thank you as he rides off, but unless someone makes a really sweet offer, he won't get traded. Hopefully that doesn't sour O'Ry and others on the situation. Fortunately, this front office isn't the Salomons.

  5. Binnington-which version shows up? Crucial to just making the playoffs. Greiss might need to be extraordinarily. My other concern is the power play without Perron’s deadly shot. Otherwise your analysis of all the other players and team is spot on

  6. Life long Blues fan here. Great job with this video!!! But you forgot about Nick Leddy. I think he will be in the top 4 vs Scandella. I'm still upset about them not resigning Peron. Hopefully I'll get over it soon. Looking forward to the start of the season.

  7. I have blues identical around 110pts and 2nd in div behind Colorado and 3rd in conf…

  8. Little late here but I think a potential breakout candidate is Alexey Toropchenko. He's got size and ruthlessness to get to the puck.

  9. I was upset when I learned that the blues never even made perron an offer. That said, with the playoff format, I don't see us getting past Colorado

  10. Reminder that in 2020-21, they were completely decimated by injuries. There's a multi-week stretch when they had no centers playing. They were down to three defensemen in the playoffs that year.

  11. scandella is god awful, hope mikkola steps up and he gets buried in the minors. Also, knowing DA's style i would not be surprised at all if O'Reilly walks after next season

  12. I love Thomas during the regular season, have to see if he can up his grit come playoff time

  13. This was a great analysis. Although, Nick Leddy wasn't even mentioned, and I'm curious why.

  14. Great preview Shannon. I think Army knows what he’s doin even though DP57 will be missed for sure. Can’t wait for next month! LGB

  15. I expect the Blues (if goaltending isn’t a problem) to be the second or first team in the Western conference. After last year’s success (losing in six to the champs), they may have learned what they need to get to the final again. I don’t think losing Perron is as important as how well Bennington plays. That will be key. If he plays well, they have a shot at another cup, but this will likely be the last shot with this iteration of the Blues (the ‘19 Champs). Berube is a hell of a coach. That’s a great benefit for them too.

  16. Love this take, but more importantly, love the cat. didnt see that cutie until 8:30 but it made my afternoon. Thanks Hockey guy!

  17. very good review, but there aint no chance that scandella is a top4 d-man, he should be below perunovich, leddy and mikkola on the depth chart

  18. I don’t think we keep O’Reilly. Doug is doing a quiet rebuild that seems to work, and O’Reilly doesn’t fit that spot with the money we would have to spend. One mistake he keeps doing though is signing defensemen for long term with NTCs. Hard to get someone like Perunovich or Kessel in the lineup in the future.
