The shot hit Ottinger in the cage on the right side. During the post-game handshake line, you can see the wire on the cage bent and black from the puck mark. I think the headshot dazed him and Gaudreau put away the dead-angle rebound. That dead-angle goal and slow reaction by Ottinger seem to point to a momentary lapse of focus due to the previous shot hitting him the head. It was a great series to watch and Ottinger has a bright future.
Wow, 60 saves. I never liked the Stars but I really wanted them to beat Calgary because of Oettinger. He was absolutely stellar throughout the first round….
I'm really glad the Flames ousted Dallas….. but who do I cheer for in the battle of Alberta when I actually despise both teams? – a confused Vancouver Canucks fan. Sigh.
For being one of the toughest team sports in terms of physicality, hockey players have such class and the fans certainly seem to have class as well. Congrats to the Flames and what a performance by Ott in net. Excited to see the battle for Alberta!
Gaudreau never stopped attempting to score with passion.. trait of a great goal scorer/hockey player.. that last shot perhaps had the least looking probability of going in but it didn’t stop him from shooting it..
The Dallas Stars already served their purpose when they eliminated Vegas from reaching the playoffs and now the hockey world gets what it’s been craving for and that is Battle of Alberta in a playoff matchup!!!

Three game 7s on Saturday. Two game 7s yesterday that both went into overtime. This is some pretty damn good playoff hockey right now.

Gaudreau was all over the ice and was due in this game. Oettinger was superb and had to be beaten by a prefect shot. Great game/series.
