  1. I do think Seattle has a good team, chemistry needs to start jelling together and maybe they start winning games.

I know the focus is always "if a team fails, ditch the coach" but in honesty, how long do they give old Hacky until they realize hmm maybe we should have a different skipper?

  2. They will be significantly better but still miss the playoffs. Great work by them so far tho. They are close to being a playoff team.

  3. Somebody explain to me why Seattle decided to get Beniers to play that 10th game late in the last season when they had nothing to play for… I mean, that ONE game made his ELC to kick in and burned off a year of his contract. Those slide years in the ELC is golden in todays salary cap world. Must have been one important game to sacrifice a whole year of RFA contract status control down the road… Makes no sense to me at least🤔🤔🤔

  4. Donskoi is such a great guy. I really hope is puck luck turns around next season

  5. Seattle will be competitive there is no question. Not playoff bound just yet. But I like the approach they have initiated in building their team !

  6. I think they'll be about the same with slightly better special teams number, so a few more wins. Until that awful goaltending improves they're not going to be a threat to make the playoffs.

  7. Seattle doesn't do themselves any favors winning now… Last year they brought their lunchboxes, they were entertaining and weren't slouches to play against… keeping tons of cap space will be good for another couple years while cap is relatively flat… Seattle needs to be at the bottom of the league (there's going to be some dubious company joining them), they need one of the bottom 3 picks

  8. Seattle is starting to get that star power to their offence – Wright, Beniers, Schwartz, Eberle etc… However they lack that excellent offensive defenceman. IF they could get someone like John Klingberg it would highly increase their powerplay ability.

Grubauer surely has to be better. He had an anomaly of a season.

All-in-all I would expect them to get something like 30 to 35 wins depending on how they improve their blue line.

They could make cap space for a Klingberg by trading away Driedger and Donskoi/Wennberg, or perhaps Larsson if they strictly want an upgrade.

  9. Seattle will tank and sell at the deadline in order to get as many picks in next years draft. They are 3 years out which is good for a rebuilding team. Not every new franchise pulls it off like Vegas did

  10. looking at their roster, seattle honestly looks a lot better than i thought they would (the goaltending could be a weak spot though, especially if grubauer has a repeat of last season). i really hope they compete for a playoff spot, whether it's top 3 in the pacific or a western wild card position. Seattle vs Vancouver should start to heat up, with both of them potential candidates for a playoff spot next season

  11. They'll be better but at the end of the day I don't like their blue line and they're overpaying a goalie. Don't think they'll make the playoffs

  12. I don't see Seattle any where near they playoffs, Why would they want to with next years draft being stacked.

  13. I like the way we are headed. Ron Francis et al seem to be building the team from the ground up. It takes time to learn to play together. Last year we poured a foundation but kept it basic and didn’t spend a lot of cap space. We trimmed a few players but kept Gourde. Wennberg, Eberle etc who now have a year of synergy. Now we weaponized our cap space and got a couple of very solid players in Bjorkstrand and Burakovsky for very little in return. I expect this year to be an improvement and that our main goal should be to just make the playoffs while building confidence in our younger players. Then next year we see more improvement as players like Jagger Firkus and some of our other draft picks start to contribute.

It feels like we’re doing the opposite of the Golden Knights and that is fine with me!

  14. Love the thumbnail. Would love to see who Wright is staring down there… Still think its the death stare he gave the Montreal draft table

  15. The pacific is getting stronger I don’t know it’s a 100% safe to call 5 and 3 anymore. I wouldn’t say there is a weak division right now the pacific is on the up I think the kings vancouvers second half Edmonton Calgary (depends on the deal) but give it another year or two I feel like Anaheim is going in the right direction the only team I feel like might be treading water is the sharks and Vegas can keep shooting themselves in the foot lol (I say that only as a kings fan lol)

  16. With Edmonton, Calgary, and Los Angeles most likely making the playoffs and the Ducks improving, I don't see Seattle making the playoffs this year, especially with their goalie situation. They will definitely be more competitive in 2 to 3 years from now however.

  17. I bet they finish with a .500 record which would be a huge improvement and could make them competitive. Will be fun to watch

  18. Ahhhhh I love it we are back to normal 2 years ago you sneezed and said allergies people would panic and say the thing lol

  19. They're better, but unless a couple teams who made the playoffs last season and a couple bubble teams self destruct, I don't see them in the playoffs. I just see them winning a few more games. They look better than Arizona, Chicago, and Anaheim; but are you really better than San Jose or Dallas? Is Seattle better than Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Minnesota, or Vegas? Are they better than LA or Nashville? Being better than worst in the division isn't enough.
