  1. I think by May/June the owner of the Rockets buys them and moves them to Houston with a new name

  2. Its official today. Coyotes are moving from 18k fan Glendale to a 5k fan Tempe location.

No one cares about NHL in a desert. However, tempe is a good spot. It is in train track and near ASU(drunks) and scottsale(drunks).

I think new location will be a winner

  3. Great video! I live here in Scottsdale. When the Suns arena was built, Jerry Colangelo had two choices: A. Universal arena and B. Basketball only arena with 1/3 the space cropped for a practice gym at the arena. He went with B. When the Coyotes moved here there were many seats that could not be used because they could not see the entire sheet of ice. Yes hockey was never suggested then when Colangelo chose this, but it ruined the opportunity for it. Sarver (Suns owner said no to the Coyotes just recently). I don't blame him. Coyotes are not managed well and when you don't make your payments, why would Sarver wish to inherit this mess of an organization. I cannot see how a new arena gets built here for the Coyotes unless it is 100% privately financed. They are already out of the Pacific Division. I would like to see them stay, I just don't see it.

  4. Why not split the. Cost on a real arena with 15k seats ?.. 5 k is bs even fir a major college hockey program

  5. Maybe they should move the team to Quebec City, there's a 400 M $ arena there ready to welcome a team and a whole population craving for hockey.

  6. Just imagine MLS's Vancouver Whitecaps moving to Sacramento and playing in a 11,569 seat Heart Health Stadium at Cal Expo for 3 or 4 year as the newly name Sac Republic FC, while the Downtown Rail Yard stadium is being built

  7. If asu want to be a major player in college hockey they should be building a 10k seat arena …..

  8. I’m sure they could move to Quebec, Hartford, Hamilton, Kansas CityHouston and more.

This team is a disgrace. Just admit failure snd move on.

  9. Meanwhile a junior A team plays in the beautiful Videotron Centre in Quebec City. Bettman is huge douchebag.

  10. Again the arrogantly selfish public funded stadium owners throw a tantrum. This is the result. They would rather tank a fans committed financial loyalty than show that they (ownership) has deep pockets. Total petulant organization. Oh, don’t forget blackouts on your game feed if you haven’t purchased (or can afford) another subscription. City of Phoenix wont attempt to open up the sun’s stadium due to a poorly “negotiated” public funded building
No city has ever benefited being partners with privately held sports teams. Total shame & screw the blindly committed fan…
    Oh,
Lets not forget the nhl & yotes “commitment” to growing the game in the valley. Asu’s old barn will be bladed. Thats one more sheet gone. . Glendale wont keep their sheet open for weekly kids teams/games. Yotes will take more sheets away from the kids in order to praky & host. Prices will click up to play.
Lastly, the last news about the yotes and the city of Glendale was over LATE payment of roughly 1.3 million in BACK TAXES. The yotes pay more in salary to its players (and staff )than they did to Glendales in missing payments
    One has to ask themselves
    Who is to blame here.

  11. If this happens I'll feel bad for the conversion crew cause ncaa to nhl they will probably have to repaint the ice for each game

  12. How fucken embarrassing get them to Quebec for gods sakes brand new gorgeous building there waiting this is a joke

  13. The arena in Glendale would have worked for a few years while they got a new arena built…if they bothered to pay their bills

  14. At this point you have to believe the NHL is keeping them there out of spite. Concede Bettman & move to Quebec.

  15. Vegas golden knights is a perfect example how hockey works in desert, is the first franchise and by far the most loved by population of Vegas, with a new arena, i believe in 6 years this team will be the 2 franchise in Arizona, hockey is fun to play and watch, Suns always was a bunch of losers is not difficult pass them, Diamondbacks the owner not investe in the team, Arizona cardinals is difficult because is football, and american love this thing, but in perpesctive in future, i bet in Coyotes !!!!!

  16. This has gone on for decades now….just end it. The NHL tried their best…it didn't work. Get out.

  17. I like it. It’s gonna work perfect
Now. Look at Mesa as the Next location
    Red Mountain. Or
    Superstition Springs area.
Or even out by Gateway Airport

  18. Ok just because Its a college area doesn't mean the coyotes can't play in it, besides the Calgary flames did the same thing.

  19. Would it have been so horrible to have allowed Jim Balsillie to buy the team a decade ago and move it to Hamilton?

  20. Arizona does not deserve an NHL team the cities involved have been bogged down in political
Infighting and unable to make decisions. Yes to hockey but, No stadium in our community? So
in a desperate move the “brain trust” put the team so far out west, you’d think we’re in California!
🤡Sell ‘em! 5000 seats? Tempe? no stadium? defaulted on the stadium we did have! SELL ‘em 🤡

  21. My wife and I live in Phoenix and know some of he issues that Glendale presented to the Arizona Coyotes club during the pandemic along with the issues of the 1.7 million in back taxes by the Coyotes for 2021. Part of this issue is the city of Glendale pitching a serious fit because the Coyotes intend to build an arena with the same local restaurant business model of Gila River which will be more central to the fan base. Helping the Coyotes to make this move comes from the city of Glendale raising tenant costs to the club (estimated to be 20% during the pandemic). Granted, everyone has been seriously hurt by Covid-19 since 2019, but for a city to hold a team's financial feet to the fire when no one is allowed to even attend a game and the economy itself is in jeopardy is ridiculous, especially over a long duration. There needs and needed to be some common sense on the part of the City of Glendale. As usual with most government, the more the city of Glendale pressed the matter, the more the Arizona Coyotes stood their ground (its a Hockey Team). Now that everything is said and done, the city of Glendale Arizona is going to lose big time with serious financial losses in rent, jobs and tax revenue. Those who will suffer more are the local business that depend on the foot traffic generated by the thousands of attendants to Gila River. The new stadium will be exceptional once approval by city planning is completed, however for most of our fan base we see this new venue as an exciting opportunity to fill the stands, rather than the sparse attendance we usually see. In many cases for visiting teams, we see a 2 (visitor) to 1 (Yotes) and sometimes 3 to 1 fan base (such as the Boston Bruins game here).

What is a concern for Yotes fans is the proposed cost of season and regular tickets that are yet to be officially announced which will have an average price starting at $160 to $360 per seat. Current pricing starts at $10 per seat in the upper section and goes up from there with a regular lower concourse price of $80 per seat (like our season tickets). As season ticket holders in the lower concourse, this will be double the price and for many fans, they state emphatically this will price them out of reach for tickets. We are not the Boston Bruins or the Toronto Maple Leafs, this is the Arizona Coyotes who are almost dead last with line change assignments that many times do not make any sense. No one here in Arizona wants to buy expensive season tickets to go see a home team lose and lose big, so when the ticket prices are announced, we expect to see the Arizona Coyotes club get a reverse reality check but this time from the fans themselves.

  22. God, can they just move the team to Milwaukee already? At least they have a new state of the art arena ready to go. And since it's a cold weather city, it makes a lot more sense than Phoenix.

  23. Does it even matter where the Coyotes play? Is it even 25 mins from Phoenix to the Gila arena? They can't pay their bills and I've heard people complain it's too far from Phoenix. Hockey hasn't worked in Arizona since they moved there. That's the problem. Getting Bettman to admit this problem is a whole other story.🙄

  24. The city of Quebec has a 21,00 seating arena that is new and was built to bring back the Nordiques – why not…..Bettman is not doing much, can't wait for a new commissioner.

  25. I’m not going to lie. At first I was shocked but now I’m REALLY intrigued and will probably come over from Europe just to see NHL games being played in such an intimate arena. It’d be absolutely great to see McDavid accelerate in a 5k spectator arena.

  26. Personally it would've been cool to watch them play in the Madhouse on McDowell.

Also you seem alright so I'll subscribe.

  27. What a joke. Leave phoenix it doesn’t work. Go to hamilton, Quebec City, Milwaukee, a city where they will be welcomed and have a better arena

  28. Quebec is BEGGING for an NHL team. They have the videotron centre with a capacity of 18,000. Would sell out every game.

  29. Coyotes are a failed corrupt business that nearly bankrupted Glendale. Now they want a socialist taxpayer bailout. Lets send them packing.

  30. Get rid of this fucking team holy shit what is it gonna take? Because we all know hockey in the desert is the best market for it to thrive right?

  31. The arena in my home town has twice the capacity, and that hosts is a Major Junior team.

  32. That's half of what Ottawa's civic centre held for hockey for a couple years with the Senators… and they were the joke of the league for more than just the arena for a few years lol

For what the team costs while there is a perfectly acceptable arena and waiting audience in Quebec City … it's hard to justify the costs … seriously bad judgement.

  33. What a great experience to see NHL hockey up close in a small venue for a few years. The new arena/multi use arena in Tempe being built will be just fine – enjoy the small – intimate NHL experience for a few seasons.

  34. Can't wait. When the Oilers visit it'll be 90% snowbirds from Canada
Ticket packages already on sale, single game tix soon…
