  1. Hey Shan, I think it’d be hilarious if you slipped in a History of… from 2002 just to see who’s paying attention.

  2. 1st coach was Phil Goyette who played 6 yrs for the Habs, 6 yrs for the Rangers, 1 year for the Blues (had a 78 point year but lost in game 7 to the Bruins) and 2 yrs for the Sabres. Don't know how many rings he had but was fired half way thru the first year coaching the Islanders.

  3. Why don't you get don Cherry's clothes from Hnic. I'm sure he doesn't use them. And get a dog named blue.
And show bad plays of hockey goals…just a thought😂🤣..

  4. With how many GMs are former players with long careers, I’m a little surprised to learn Cheveldayoff was a first round pick

  5. The Flames were twice as good as the woeful 1st year Isles but had no Playoff success (never reaching RD-2) while the Isles quickly improved and became a contender by their 4th season.

The Isles didn’t become as poorly again as their beginning until the late-80’s. Being established in NY certainly helped the Isles, even in a two-team city.

  6. I understand the first-last thing, but I'd make an exception for Arbour with any talk of coaches on this team.

  7. Are there any other arenas where you take a shuttle from the parking lot to the arena? That’s the one thing I hate about the new arena.

  8. In a nutshell:
It was the worst of times, it was the better of times, IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES, it was the worse of times, it was the best-worst of times, IT WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST OF TIMES, it was the mediocre of times, it was the much better of times, it was the who the heck knows of times.

  9. The isles drafted so well in the 70's.. when you consider that they were an expansion team in the early 70's and ended up only a few seasons later winning 4 in a row.. and back then, expansion drafts gave you other teams castoffs.. you didn't get the quality you can in the later ones. They drafted all of their top stars during that dominant era of the canadiens… and I bet if Dryden didn't retire, their 4 cup runs might not have happened… MTL probably would have kept their dominance going for a few more years…

  10. NYI, Bossy 573 in 752 games, ,2709 shots; its the volume of shots per goals going in. Ok, ..761968 in gpg. .2115 in goals per shot.

  11. Griffen Reinhart officially retired from hockey at the age of 28 so he won’t make 100 NHL games

  12. We want fish sticks! I still like it better than that awful Nets crossover or any of the NY word mark styles. Just doesn't go with a team so full of history like there's.

  13. can't believe the NHL effed up and didn't work with the politicians to make sure that Barclays Center was built to be NHL compliant as well so that it benefits the NHL and the community more. They are either incompetent or getting paid off under the table by the NBA to act incompetent. I'd say the latter, since Bettman worked with Adam Silver and David Stern at the NBA back in the day. I mean they seriously dropped the ball here. As usual.

  14. Just think if Milbury wasn't in charge, Chara and Luongo would be a couple more names on that list. Along w/ several others.

  15. Looks like Lou is not going to confirm the Kadri signing. lol

  16. In NHL 2002, I would grab Kristian Kudroc from the Tampa Bay Lightning and Marc Bergevin from the Pittsburgh Penguins. My 3rd pairing defenseman for the Habs team. lol

  17. LETSSSSSSSFKNGOOOOOOOO ISLES seriously. I'm using all caps so LOU might WAKE UP ⏰

  18. I think it's safe to say that Brian Curran nor Mick Vukota's records will ever be broken in this day in age.

  19. Brett Lindros was never going to confused with his brother in toughness? He was taking on super tough heavyweights regularly and doing well at the age of 18 and 19. Sorry but he was tougher than his brother.
