   I honestly think people are sleeping on the Leafs this year, and I like it.

   So much chatter of the leafs downgrading this offseason has to do with goaltending, despite the fact we dealt with a bottom 5 worst team sv% from the end of November onwards last year.

   Our new bottom six forwards have elite defensive metrics, and they play with a ton of pace and physicality. A few guys can put up some points too. If you want to score against the Leafs bottom six this year, you’ll have to earn every goal. No easy nights.

   On top of all of that, both Matthews & Tavares had a full offseason and are coming into camp ready & healthy.

   I think Toronto’s work ethic and defensive stability are going to catch some teams really off guard this year. Still a couple question marks to fill out, but I really like the way this Leafs team is structured. My biggest wish for training camp is that a Marlie steps up and steals a spot.

   It’s certainly not fair to say that JT was horrible last year, but the Leafs could absolutely use him taking a step towards where he was his first season.

   Hopefully they can find somebody to play with him and Nylander, and he returns to 30+ goal form. I’m still not convinced that Marner shouldn’t be playing with him tbh. But ultimately if Matthews wants to play with Marner, you can’t fuck with that.

   I don’t think it’s out of the question for the Leafs to have five 30 goal scorers. Matthews, Marner, Nylander, JT and Bunting.
