1. I watched a lot of Dallas games and those contracts are horrible. Seguin is a ghost most of the time, you forget he's even there. Benn is worse than that, because he actively hurts the team by playing dirty, taking ridiculous penalties and giving the puck away almost every time he has it. Both are bad defensively too.

  2. They could always sign Loui Eriksson if they want more scoring I bet he'll never get called out🤣

  3. Tom Gaglardi Stars owner who years ago sued Aquilini for the way he bought the Canucks which was very sketchy.

  4. They got paid after career years in their mid 20’s and are simply past their prime. Statistically, players prime is about age 23 through 27. This is why Calgary shouldn’t be so upset about losing Gaudreau. There’s a great chance he never scores over 90 points ever again. Karlsson, good example, he dropped way off after that age range. Same with Kadri, teams should be cautious before paying him at age 31.

  5. i guess the players association needs to get involved in being able to rescind Players Salaries, because surely 9.85 + Benn's contract, should be worth more than current production value? why wouldn't ownership/mgmt scream?

  6. The fact that pavelski is 38 going to 39 and had more points then Seguin and benn…..that's not good lol even the rookies hintz and Robertson outscored them and makes them even look worse. I mean to be out scored by a almost 40 year old player…..like WTF Benn and Seguin SHOULD BE UP THEIR IN THE 70s range but nope….. EMBARRASSING Seguin MIGHT turn it around but Benn….idk….THIS IS SAD

  7. Seeing that Seguin per year plus bonus makes the most in the NHL yea ik kinda shocker but if he isn't doing well I'd be mad too.

  8. I mean they kind of deserve it but Seguin has always been immature and Benn has always been a overrated hack so it's also the management's fault

  9. They’re screwed. Best thing to do is trade them out of Dallas. But the cap hit is a monstrosity and it’ll be a salary dump. Good luck doing that in todays NHL. So in the meantime, management will just keep bearing the dead horse. And pray it’ll spark them up for a year and then goes flatline again.

  10. Seguin is hanging out with Dak and his new wife runs around with the Cowboys WAGs. He just became comfortable in his lifestyle.

  11. Not really surprising. Regardless of whos to blame. It will be difficult for the stars to do anything when they are paying both guys the amount that they are.

  12. Management insists on returning to their "defensive identity" by hiring coaches like Hitchcock, Montgomery, and Bowness, and then cries when the players do what the coaches tell them. These players sacrificed their personal glory for the team play, and management craps on them for it.

  13. yea they were both definitely great, but recently they have dropped off and it's hard to see why as they aren't THAT old, I'm think the coaching had a lot to do with it because Gurianav and Radulov also had off years, really Dallas shouldn't have even made the playoffs, they got lucky with how much chemistry Pavelski-Hintz-Robertson line has and their new/young goalie is starting to show he might be a top 3 soon

  14. ntc shouldn't be a thing, i like seguin but there's no way to justify this. for the love of god resign robertson and oettinger asap.

  15. He’s not wrong I brought my son to a game this past year and he asked why it looked like Jaime Benn isn’t even trying. And he was right he looked like he could care less about being out there.

  16. Great video. Many of the points you raise I'm agreeing with. 👍 new teams for those two key guys will help them improve and the stars team improve also. Keep er goin'

  17. People have to remember this is a season where Seguin just came off surgery the season before he had a slow start but turned it up in the later part of the season and who knows maybe a coaching change is what they need benn and Seguin actually were doing pretty good with the coaches before rick bowness maybe Peter deboer is the coach they need

  18. Jamie Benn is washed up and Tyler Seguin is not far behind him, they both have terrible contracts. Bruins have to be glad they traded Seguin years ago

  19. Benn's given you all he's got left in the tank! He's a semi-power forward… and these miles accumulates harder for Big bodied players (like Rick Nash). Even when he was dominating @ the Olympic in 2014… you can tell he had to push way harder than the other stars on the ice! His decline is not suprising. I'm not giving up on Seguin yet… but if his Hip doesn't recover… no amount of pep talk from the owner is gonna make him skate faster! Might have to buy em out!!

  20. Benn and segs have had issues buying into the coaching strategies of multiple coaches over the past 6+ years. Stability has been the ultimate issue. And the 80s era coaching strategy of bowness the pas 2+ years has been just as damaging. Benn is past his prime. Seggs still has some time but that labrum surgery will likely cut it short. Now the boys have deboer for their leader behind the bench. If he can stick around long enough to help the stars heal and grow, and perhaps put into place a coaching strategy that taps the potential of the stacked talent on the bench, things will look a lot better. Until that happens, expect more of the same.

  21. Buddy Benn did not get carried in the bubble by our defense, Seguin did. Benn was tied with Pavelski in most points among forwards the coaching staff said before the bubble they were going to put more emphasis on letting the D core takeover

  22. For the last 3 years benn has been atrocious and Laforest is wrong, his contract is an albatross. It’s not just last year either, so she isn’t an excuse…he’s been bad for years. However, in talking about last year if you trade out benn and seguin for two players of similar monetary value who are superstar level (which you could for the money) the stars might have won the cup last year. Management has every right to call these guys out. Can’t trade em. Nobody wants them. If they hit the market today they’re pulling half of what they’re making or less. They are weighing the team down. I hope they figure it out.

  23. Both those guys have really crappy contracts and poor relative production and are unmovable without a severe pain for Dallas.

  24. Everyone knows Gaglardi is CLUELESS. Why call out players for the big money contracts? The idiot owners gave them those contracts & they're the responsible party. All players go through slumps – calm down geez!!! MAY E they would produce if management & coaching staff weren't douchbags throwing the team under the bus, actually knew what their job is & how to do it, drafted with knowledge, etc…so many "FANS" acting like couch critics 🤣🤣. SMH!! GOOOOO STARS💚💚💚
