Congrats to the Blues fans on that win. Certainly crushing as an Avs fan but have to give credit where credit is deserved. And not crushed because the Avs lost but how it happened. Rather have taken a 6-0 shalacking followed by a kick in the ole knackers.

Blues fan, and a realist. Knew Avs were the better team going in, but thought the one wild-card the Blues had was Binnington. His puck handling skills, IMO, had the chance to counter the AVS forecheck and maybe keep a slower Blues defense from getting caught in their own zone too much. Thus my dismay when he got hurt.
However, can't deny a team that knows how to win. AVS may still win this, but that game sure was fun!!

God dammit man, as a neutral fan I was so pissed that MacKinnon hat trick goal wasn't the series clincher simply for the narrative. What a monster game that Colorado pissed away.
Husso played about as good as a goalie can play (having given up 4 goals) and kept the score relatively close and eventually the blues got some scoring chances of their own and took advantage of them . Everyone in the building got real anxious when they cut it to one. Started to feel like one of those games where one team had the opportunity to put the other team away and didn't, allowing the opposition to eventually win the contest leaving everyone shocked. Fortunately for Colorado, the speed and scoring talent puts so much pressure on the other team that they eventually give up an easy one. But st. Louis is the true definition of a team. They are relentless and the differences in goalie talent has them forcing a game 6. It's anyone's series now with the blues having gm 6 on home ice and the momentum then, if they win, in gm 7 having won 2 in a row possibly. Colorado had them down 3 and didn't finish. You have to learn how to win . You don't give a team that's not as talented as you but just as hungry any chance to breath when you hVe them on t he ropes. Watch a clip of Ali when he had his opponent on the ropes. He doesn't let up and finishes most of the time in the next 10 seconds. That's having a super star winner mentality .
If Blues ties it up in match 6, I have not much hopes for Avalanche. You can not loose 3:0 lead, there is no way to loose 4:3 with around 2 minutes to go, there is no way to miss empty net. Bitter hat-trick, what a great way ending up series it would be just if…..
