L’histoire des pingouins de Pittsburgh, édition 2022

Les Pens ont connu des hauts et des bas tout au long de leur longue histoire. Ils ont réussi à éviter la délocalisation et ont prospéré au cours des 15 dernières saisons. 1. Great video hockey guy you definitely made my night thank you!!! Let’s gooo penguins

  2. Some notable Peguins that should be remembered Tim Horton, Vic Hadfield, Steve Durbano, Dave Burrows, Andy Brown (last maskless goalie), Mike Bullard, Marty McSorley, Ron Stackhouse, Eddie Shack, Rene Robert (before the French Connection), Greg Polis, Ron Schock, Dave Schultz, Alexi Kovalev, Pierre Larouche, Battleship Kelly, George Ferguson, Darius Kasperiatis, Gilles Meloche, Greg and Ryan Malone, Charlie Simmer, Martin Straka, Robert Lang, Doug Bodger and Zarley Zalapski.

  3. I wonder if the Pens retire Fleury's number, if they retire 58, 71 & 87 it only seems fair

  4. Love the Patrick lalime callout! He did indeed have some nice masks 🙂

  5. Jagr said that in early 2000's when they were in trouble he said "just trade me for some good assets". And therefore they got Crosby.

  6. Gordie Laxton and Rob Holland were unquestionably the worst two goalies the Pens ever had. Sieve 1 and Sieve 2. For those of us who had to endure 1967 – 1983, fans who know of only Lemieux and Crosby have no idea what it's like to go to a Pens' game in the cigarette strewn, blue hazed Civic Arena and watch a garbage team play poor hockey with 5,000 other "fans."

  7. Never experienced the bad years as I was 4yo when MAF got drafted, so I'm kinda mentally preparing myself now for the future rebuild (and relocation trolls) lol. Can't say I can complain over the years that's been awesome to watch. I think #29 as well should be getting retired after he's done. And I've always wondered if someone out there has a Briere #21 jersey

  8. I also think a huge step towards the 2 cups in 2016 and 2017 was bringing Mike Sullivan in. He ignited something in that team as soon as he arrived.

  9. Says something about their organization that both Malkin and Letang signed. I think most players at their age and in their situation would move on, but you just know they have faith that so long as Crosby is still there they’ve got a shot to win.

  10. The arena hasn’t been sponsored by PPG for a few years now. Oh no, must redo video again. Lol

  11. I like how the penguins have only appear in back to back cup finals but up until the 16 and 17 cup wins they had different head coaches in every Stanley Cup they appeared in.

  12. First NHL game I ever attended was in December 1971, California Golden Seals at Pittsburgh Penguins in the Civic Arena. My dad had Pens tickets through his work in the early '70s, and I loved those light-blue penguins. Was hoping to hear more about that era, but still appreciate your channel so much! By the way, that game was a thrilling 1-1 tie.

  13. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the pens are not winning another back to back with Crosby, Malkin, etc. That door has closed.
Unlikely they win a 1st round back to back.

  14. Have been a Pens' fan since the early 70s and they have survived so many rumors about leaving Pittsburgh and as Shannon mentioned, Mario Lemieux was the "savior" and prevented the team from relocating in the mid-80s. Like most teams, they had some very lean years, but now are considered to be one of the most stable franchises in the league.

  15. Guentzel should be on the board for best draft picks. Also Esposito was a bust but I liked the pick at the time to use his value as trade value. He was a risk and they used that for a package for hossa and dupuis.

  16. For those who never saw Mario in his prime my condolences. Unfortunately you missed one of the greatest power forwards in the history of the game. Just a notch below 99 in overall skill Super Mario was incredible to watch and when healthy(which sadly was not often enough) he was Unstoppable. There are plenty of stories of head coaches who would watch Penguins warmups and then go tell their team "Mario looks ready to play…we won't be able to slow him down so just shutdown everyone else".

  17. Fun fact about Angelo Esposito, he's not related to the great Esposito's of Phil or Tony, but has uncles named Phil and Tony.

  18. Trivia: The last NHL game played by a maskless goalie was Pittsburgh's Andy Brown on April 7, 1974 against the Atlanta Flames.

  19. Jean Pronovost is a born again Christian, I'm always interested in the hockey careers of my Christian brothers like Pronovost, Shane Doan, Mike Gartner, Jaccob Slavin and others. There are a lot of Christians in popular American sports like football, sadly less in Canada because the culture in Canada is more atheist/agnostic than America, hopefully that will change.

  20. Pens are gonna prove y’all wrong this year. They DOMINATED NYR. Zero chance they lose to NYR or Carolina in playoffs. Only lost cause Domique blew it with weak goal after weak goal and 0 clutch ability.

  21. I've been a Pens fan since 91'.
It's insane how many greats, very talented players, and legends played here.
Lemieux, Jagr, Crosby, Malkin, Francis, Trottier, Murphy, Mullen, Robitaille, Tocchet, Stevens, Kovalev, Gonchar, Zubov, Guentzel, Hossa, Fleury, Barrasso, Antti Neimi, Gary Roberts, Iginla, Nedved, Straka, Letang, Ulf, Coffey, Naslund, Recchi, Staal, Rust, Kessel, etc.

Just seeing who's paying attention lol

  22. Malkin has 1,008 PIM for the Pens. Guaranteed he breaks the 1,048 by Kevin Stevens by New Years.

It's easy to see why so many people instinctively hate the Penguins looking at this board.

  23. the fact that Kevin Stevens leads this franchise in PM still is hard to digest. I started following in Pens in 1989. So bob battleship kelly has less PMs then Stevens? Really? I was misled as a young Pens fan. Mueller going to the Pens would have not been great. Lemieux is a hockey god. Mueller is not.

  24. I checked your career list, no Rick Kehoe video that I can see. As an aside like I’d like to see a career video on Mike Liut and Yvan Cournoyer (surprised he’s never had one). And maybe a list of some of the dirtiest players in NHL history. Dale Hunter, Matt Cooke, Tom Wilson (borderline on Scott Stevens). Perhaps a goon list as well.

  25. The Pittsburgh Penguins should have retired;
68# Jaromir Jagr – LONG time ago, its overdoo.
    77# Paul Coffey
    10# Ron Stevens
    35# Tom Barrasso
    25# Kevin Stevens

    Future numbers:
    87# Sidney Crosby
    71# Evgeni Malkin
    58# Kris Letang
    29# Marc-André Fleury

  26. My daughter thought PPG arena meant Power play goal because of Crosby and Malkin. She's too young to remember Mellon arena and the years of struggle. And hopefully she never will. 😉
Favourite drafted player Jim Paek, even saw him play in my homeland GB. We got loads of old Penguins in the 90's/00's. 😋
