The Alex Ovechkin vs the entire Detroit Red Wings goals scored over 10 games statistic, made me throw up in my mouth a little.
At this point, I think the only debate is whether this is the worst Red Wings team ever. It's beginning to rival the legendarily bad team of '85-'86, which is one of the worst seasons of the modern era.
I was a kid when the wings were winning Stanley Cups in the 90's. I still have my Sergei Fedorov signed card that was sent to me when I wrote the organization a letter in the 5th grade. I grew up on the ponds wanting to be Shanahan, Yzerman, Lidstrom, Fedorov, Probert, Draper, Maltby, McCarty, Datsyuk, Chelios, etc. There were so many memorable players from those days and I'm really hoping that the wings can get back to that. We need a roster that the fans can get behind again and want to watch play. I have full faith in Stevie Y that he'll turn this team around eventually. I just hope it doesn't take a decade.

If the NHL was smart they would see that the Red Wings are by far the worst team in the league and deserve the 1st pick. The current draft lottery sytem is the stupidest in all of sports and everyone(except, of course, the league office)knows it. My God, one year the team with the worst chance of winning the No. 1 pick won it!! They shouldn't have even been in the lottery. Oh, if anyone out there thinks the Wings are tanking, look at the numbers again. They really are that bad! They have no goals scorers(healthy ones anyway), the defense is terrible, the goaltending has been from bad to only fair, and their most promising young players have been out with injuries much oy the year. The NHL should dump the lottery system for the 1st pick. There are other ways to protect against a team deliberately losing for a shot at the #1 pick in the draft.

8. No AHL postseason
9. Losing 6-0 against a team that lost to a 42 year old zamboni driver
