So, as soon as I got done filming this video (which was about an hour after it was leaked), it was found that this jersey is based on an old Newark Bulldogs jersey design from almost 100 years ago. With that said, I guess it IS a little bit relatable, but I'll still maintain that it if it took people an hour to slooth into the depths of the internet to find a jersey from 100 years ago from a disconnected team, maybe it still wasn't a good idea to begin with. Still a miss IMO.
You think they look bad now, wait til they change the name of the team to Shore.
At least they could have put Joyzee. Capish!

As a Devils fan, this jersey is horrible.
I was more mad that the jersey design was leaked but after seeing it on social media, the team store and fans already wearing it on the concourse, it's pretty sharp.
Bland and uninspiring design. Looks too much like the Blackhawks winter classic design. New Jersey fans deserve better.
As a Devils fan I understand the inspiration for the jersey, but it was very poorly executed. It's based on hockey history in New Jersey. Also shouldn't say Jersey on the chest, should says Devils.

The fact that people are paid to come up with this!? An absolute joke. You can pull a random person off the street that would come up with a better “jersey” for free. Fans should have say in coming up with jersey ideas.

No one from New Jersey refers to New Jersey as “jersey”. Except for anyone out of state (see Phil Murphy).
Why would they want to just invert the colors? Clearly they wanted to do something more interesting and creative that also had some historical significance

What a comically misunderstood undertaking. If the intent was to pay homage to NJ hockey history and represent the entire state:
1) the locals refer to their home state as simply "Jersey", but the rest of North America is tripping over "Jersey on a jersey". Hilarious. ;P
2) technically, this uniform DOES represent a team in the state's (albeit scant) hockey history, but what kills me is how the NHL signed off on this, since Chicago released the same look very recently… surely, SOMEONE in the board room must have warned that this might turn into a confusing and embarrassing sh_t show. I'd LOVE to hear from an insider on how this all went down.

As both a New Jersey and a hockey Jersey fan, I am so disappointed in the lack of creativity!! When I first saw it I thought it was a joke like the nj angels a couple years ago
I like it. It’s classic and colloquial
So I hated it, I despised it. I saw it in person a bunch of times and it somewhat grew on me. I then received one as a present and I can’t say that I hate it the way I used to. I still would’ve rather had the reverse colors with black instead and still like the red home jerseys better but it’s not AS bad as I initially thought and I’m typically a purist when it comes to jersey designs. Has you opinion changed or differed since the leak?
New Jersey's new jerseys just read "Jersey" and are therefore very difficult to shop for? When you type in "Jersey jersey", you just get a whole load of jerseys, not necessarily the Jersey jersey that the Devils are wearing.
