Calgary playing their third game in four nights were slower, missed their checks, off-timing on man coverage, missed passes, and missed shots on net.
Not having won in Vegas ever (7 games) I had expected more jump, and riding the confidence of a first place team. Divisional games are needed points.
Instead, a middle of the pack team that's getting their injured players back, finding their stride, saw a chance to take the leaders down a notch, and took it.
Markstrom kept this a one goal loss.
Four minutes of desperation hockey at the end of the third period cannot sustain a winning season.
A much more significant test comes Tuesday vs SJ.
On the plus side, Oilers lost as well 😀

Flames didn't quite have the energy they looked tired outside of that adrenaline rush at the end of the game. Effort was there but Vegas was just better. They try to play similar to the Flames, get the lead and then make the other team skate uphill through quicksand. I thought the Flames did a pretty good job of sticking around and honestly Vegas was lucky this didn't go to OT even though they played pretty well.
