I'm a happy devils fan. I have a good feeling about Nemec. If Luke Hughes can develop along with the other prospects, we can be a competitive team in a year or 2

On the Locked On Devils podcast with Trey Matthews I recommended Šimon Nemec. Basically saying the Devils need a RHD who can play a 200ft game but can also create offense and play competitive hockey ahead of his age group. Especially with Luke Hughes after he finishes at University of Michigan

I find this to be a VERY odd pick.I am sure he will make the NHL he will be a decent defenseman but idk i don't see him as good enough to warrant a 2nd overall pick.I would have rated him much later like 15+.When they say "NHL ready"i stated that Chykryn was a great pick a few years back because he was NHL ready and imo Nemec is NOT as good as Chykryn and not as NHL ready.In comparison Chykryn went i believe 16th overall and that is at best where i would have picked Nemec.
I am much more happy with the Habs picks a very skilled small guy Hutson and Guhle is a beast along with the outsider Arber Xekhaj they have two thumping hard hitting D men that will play similar to the Wings Seider but not quite as skilled.When the Devils had success it was the smallish Neidermayer the skater and then the rugged smasher Stevens and imo that is what teams need the skilled fast skater and the bruisers that give opposing forwards fits.
