  1. This rivalry Is special because its beyond hockey it two cities who don't like each other the french the english always trying to be better than the other this rivalry can literally get both cities to watch both cities play each other in any sport it can cricket and both cities will watch just to best the other no matter what

  2. Montreal inferiority complex is clearly evident in the comments section. And it's hilarious.

  3. The Derby Days rivalry between Toronto FC and Montreal Limpact explained the rivalry better. Imagine that. 🥱

  4. Canadian division let’s goooooo! Leafs fan here. MTL and our beef is fun. It’s Boston we really really BOTH hate

  5. Great video! Loved it. No greater joy than growing up a francophone in Northern Ontario and seeing loyalties pretty much split down the middle between Leafs and Habs! Glad I chose to support the most successful NHL team in history! 🙂

  6. Only Canadian teams for 42 years from 1938? In fairness to the Canucks, I think that should be 32.

  7. Life long Habs fan here. Don't really know how to say this but Toronto has never been a rival as long as I've been a fan. Not really sure why Leaf fans keep saying this. Boston is our rival and always will be. Followed closely by the old No dics

  8. Can we please let vaccinated fans in the arena to watch the games in toronto…im old enough to say i dont wanna wait another 40 years to be able to watch these two rivals play in the playoffs…

  9. This rivalry transcends hockey, it’s about french vs english for a lot of people

  10. Kovalev running over that weasel Tucker was a thing of beauty. Watching that clip and the one when Bouillon cleaned his clock in '06 always makes me smile.

  11. The rivalry is probably the closest in North America to the heated ones you see in other continents. Mainly cause this is a proxy between Anglo speaking Canadians and French speaking Canadians.
