Gourde is my choice for Captain.
Low key picks, Burky and Bjorky. Both had leadership roles on prior teams and are top tier players. While Andre didn’t wear a letter he was a big piece of the leadership group. Getting his chance to step out of the shadow of some big name As and C. Bjorky is going to become insanely popular with he fans as he is just a classy cool headed dude. He has leadership experience as well. I dont think Yanni is the best choice for Captain even though I love the guy. That C is traditionally a fairly serious player who pushes everyone always and puts people in check when needed. Yanni is too fun loving and goofy in practices and such, I’d hate to see a C tame down that character. Im not high on Ebs either, just watching him basically give up mid season is not the type of leader I’d want. Lars could work for the reasons you mentioned, he’s just a cornerstone period. It will be interesting to see how things gel in training camp, I think we may have a pour new Captain then. We need someone who can fire the boys… So many games last year they just needed a kick in the ass or a spark.
IMO: Haskel is too calm. He needs to get a little excited kind if like the Mariners Manager. I think that Yanni Gourde will be the new C. He is a Fan Favorite and does a Good job in the community. He was one of the A's and is something Ron Francis likes. Older and still has 3 years left on hos contract. It will be one who was selected from the expansion. I believe Yanni will be in the 2nd line and that will help. New Sub, If you get close to Shannon, you will be great, Goalies can not be captains. It is a NHL rule. Welcome.

I agree with Gourde being Captain. If not him then I could see Beniers getting the C
I find Matty to be a lot more deserving of some form of captaincy compared to Wright. Just been with the team longer and already showed that he can produce. I'm not entirely sure he'll even be with the team after ten games. I'd like to see Yanni with the C, with Jared McCann, Jordan Eberle, Adam Larsson, and Matty Beniers getting A's. Wouldn't mind Tanev being in that mix either.
