No, we will still lose more games than we win. I think we will do better next season, but the other teams have gotten better. So the bar has been raised, which is good for the whole team including our new staff. So 5 years sounds about right to get to Contention. However, we will increase the depth of our ranks in the next 2-3 years to cover all the injuries and bruises you get from a hard session. The future is bright for RW, few fans don't believe this, personally I think Stevie has increased the volume and size of RW as an organization. Our rebuild is what the Pens will do in the next 3-5 years, it takes time…

Exactly why we brought Steve home. Damn shame we had to watch endless cup games he was leading in Tampa but he brought that winning get it done culture back both from his incredible success as Tampa GM and obviously his time as one of the very few who can be called greatest of all time players. We needed a little more of that '96 mentality when we bloodied up Colorado and less of this mindset that had so clearly just accepted Detroit sucking. This isn't the Tigers…..This isn't the Lions. The Red Wings are why Detroit is title town. The Bad Boys had their moment , the Red Wings have had most of history. No one in that uniform should ever be comfortable or simply accept losing , it should piss them off and make them hungrier and make them work harder. And since Steve came in you could se the change , even more after a few moves. Still going to be climbing a mountain this year but the peak is in site now , the dark clouds have cleared and the summit is in view. Mountaintop here we come.
