Smith over Stone on that top line is a….choice. And I love Reilly
I don’t mind this but I might swap Kessel and Smith. Kessel has been on the right his whole career, I believe, I could be wrong though, but if we want the best from him we should keep him most comfortable. I think Smith has also played both right and left in the past so could be more comfortable on the other side, but this is a minor quibble.
This setup could allow them to save putting Eichel between Marchessault and Stone for when they need to load up the top line. Spreading the offense around most of the time like they are is probably the way to go, but it’s a nice backup plan for when we’re trailing.
One last thing I would say is I definitely think they should swap Roy and Amadio.
We’re paying Roy 3 million now and 4C would be a waste when a Howden-Karlsson-Roy line could actually be a very good third line (three players who can play wing and center and are not slow and have a good two way game, no real weaknesses as long as they can put up some points) and Amadio impressed enough last year that I think he can do well in the 4C spot energy line with Carrier and Kolesar but I think the third line may be asking him to do too much.
I trust Bruce 100% until he gives us a reason not to.
