@Flames de Calgary

1. With his immature , reckless personality , young age , huge contract and tons of money , I predict Tkachuk is going to fall victim to all the temptations a place like Florida has to offer. His brother (Brady) is bigger , stronger , younger , already a captain , and already engaged to be married. He also showed loyalty to his Canadian team by signing a long term contract. And by Matthew’s own admission , Brady is tougher and stronger. I hope Ottawa and Florida meet in the playoffs , so Panther fans realize they got the short end of the Tkachuk brother stick.

  2. The last four years of that Huby contract is going to be dreadful, and anyone that’s actually watched Weegar play know how bad he is. Cats got younger, tougher, and better defensively from this trade, and they got out of cap hell.

  3. Another way to look at this;

    Flames Get;
    Hub
    Weegs
    Scwindt
    1st
    2 2nds

    Panthers get;
    Tkachuk
    Bennett
    4th

    Overpay? yes…but, Zito is still dealing the mess Talon handed him with Yandle, and Bob's 10 mil, not to mention terrible drafting that left our minors a bit thin, with only Barkov and Ekblad left from his drafts. Getting Bennett was a huge benefit to Hub, who only last year really elevated his level of play to what I always believed it could be. IF Sutter can get Weegs to grow a hockey IQ then he will work out, but the guy makes terrible mistakes when given too much pressure/responsibility. Both teams get what they want/need out of these 2 deals, I don't view them as separate in the sense that Bennett & Tka add what the Panthers have been missing for a long time. Both teams got lucky in that way, as Hub will replace Gud easily at least for a few years.

  4. Good analogy of the trade. I think after the panthers weak last playoff round it was a good idea to get rid of Huberduea and Weegar didn’t really think too much of but a decent player. The first round pick was sad to see as a former Panther fan. The always trade away our best players once they start performing sadly. When this new owner took over he really washed his hands with the old fans. As far as next season depends like you said who else Calgary gets but as it stands. Gotta take Florida at this moment.

  5. Nice job young man.. It's pretty easy to tell that you have played the game and understand the system that Sutter asks his players to execute. Keep doing what you are doing and move people will watch these well out together and spoken videos.. All the best to you

  6. Florida blew it this last season by having the misfortune to meet Tampa in the first round. But then they blew up the team and have no first round picks for some time to come. They only added one forward of note so I don't know how they could possibly come out as winners in this trade. Calgary only really lost Gaudreau as Tkachuk wasn't going to sign anyway but they may yet come out ahead in the long term. But then they have to try to sign Huberdeau again next year. And so it goes…..

  7. Lol Florida ….. have you lost your mind …. Tkachuk is like the most overrated player in the NHL

  8. Im curious, when looking at a trade like this one, do you take the other team in to account at all? Do you know whats going on in South Florida? The reasoning of the trade? Do you know about the players that Calgary traded for, aside from what a 5 minute Google search would show? Because these videos are popping up, where they say the Flames robbed the Pantehrs, when that is simply not the case. People really should do some research from both sides of the deal, before claiming anything.

    No, the Flames didnt rob the Panthers, if you take into accout what they Panthers gained versus what they lost.

  9. btw the Cats got 6 years younger, ditched the defenseman that cost them a couple playoff games, and helped their cap situation immensely. I'm pretty sure they're happy with this trade.

  10. Jonny Gaudreau was a great player for the Flames, but only for 82 games. He never started a faceoff in the defensive end, never went into the corners and when the playoff started he would disappear.

  11. Florida got a Punk and Calagary got a Canadian who wants to play in Canada. You don't need to be a psychologist on this one. A Punk for a guy who has been growing exponentially ever since his 25th year onwards.

  12. It’s actually just a fair trade. Huberdeaus contract will be a complete train wreck once he gets older. His contract has less upswing then tchachuk’s who’s younger and gritter

  13. Thx for this video, holy sh1t my mind is BLOWN by the amount of talent that left Flordia, wow!!! The obvious players are Huberdeau, Weegar, and Giroux (I understand he was basically a rental, but still), but then you have players I didn't realize like Chiarot, Nutivaara, Marchment, Tippett, Acciari, and Vatrano..?!?! Yeeesh, that's a tough one for Panthers fans, and I can say with relative confidence that the team got worse (which is something that did NOT seem apparent unless you were looking closely at the smaller deals). I'm not nearly as scared for my team in the Atlantic as I was before this video, so thankS again!!

  14. Im not gonna talk abt who won the trade. All im gonna say (and im saying this as a flames fan) the core needed to change. At the end of the day our top line didnt perform when playoffs came

  15. Tkachuk is the best player in that trade. Anyone want to bet he ends up with more points

  16. It feels like there's a ton of pressure on Florida. The franchise has known nothing but futility since 1996. Last year, they win a round, only to get embarrassed. They managed, somewhat, to get people's attention in Broward (although their attendance was still not worthy of a team that good) but I don't know if they can hold onto it. It feels like playoff success is an existential issue for them, honestly.
