  1. Terrible signing, Gudbranson sucks

Edit: I retract my statement, he helped bring in Johnny Hockey and I will never doubt Jarmo again

  2. I absolutely agree with Jarmo here, Gudbranson is an element that the team is absolutely missing. Right-handed big bodied experienced physical defenseman is absolutely what the Blue Jackets needed. Checks out a lot of boxes. I know that the AAV and term is little too much but I believe it will be worth it in the long run.

  3. Dont really mind the cap hit, it's not like they're gonna be close to the cap anytime soon

  4. This signing would of been okay at an AAV in the ballpark of 2.5 a season. At 4 its too much. He gives you grit, but he doesn't provide anything else and is a slow moving body. They should of went of a guy like rutta that Pitt signed to a 3 year deal. Does basically everything gubranson does, but is also a faster skater.

  5. Not a Jackets fan, but if you look at Guddy's defensive stats with Calgary last season (like that 140+ blocked shots, and +15 +/-), you'll understand why Jarmo picked him. Note that while the Jackets improved their goal scoring, they also gave up too many goals last season. Might be an overpay but I'm guessing they'd flip him in a year or so until their first round picks join the fray.

  6. Just my opinion, but getting Gudbranson might have actually contributed to Gaudreau's decision. Not the first time when a high-scoring star is accompanied by a big D team mate in the new team.

Gaudreau surely benefits from having protection. The Blue Jackets are playing in the same conference with teams who have some of the biggest rats in the NHL. This was a smart move by Jarmo.

  7. I swear, we get no respect. Reading the comments from the haters. you'd think Gaudreau and Gudbranson signed with a team in North Korea.

  8. Lol did I hear him correctly that Erick was their #1 priority guy?

Help me out here ? Which other NHL teams did they have to compete with?
I’m shock how much they have to pay for his service.

But you know what, who is more then most us is Erick himself.

How this GM of the Blue Jackets keep his job?
