Chad Ruhwedel a lancé les choses pour les Penguins en inscrivant son quatrième but de la saison. Sidney Crosby était le suivant, inscrivant son 30e but de l’année. Vrana a marqué pour les Red Wings pour réduire de moitié l’avance de Pittsburgh grâce à un avantage numérique. Rasmussen a créé l’égalité 2-2, avec un but seulement 17 secondes après le début de la 2e période. Ensuite, les Penguins ont pris leur envol. Rickard Rakell a marqué son 20e de la saison pour porter le score à 3-2 en faveur des visiteurs. Ensuite, Kris Letang a inscrit son 9e but de la saison. Evgeni Malkin a marqué un but en avantage numérique après qu’il a été revu par les officiels et considéré comme un bon but. Danton Heinen a remporté son 18e de la saison après cela, et Evgeni Malkin a de nouveau marqué avec seulement 26 secondes à jouer dans le match pour porter le score à 7-2. Casey DeSmith a arrêté 23 des 25 tirs, et Crosby (1G-1A), Letang (1G-2A), Malkin (2G), Rakell (1G-1A) et Ruhwedel (1G-1A) ont chacun eu des matchs à plusieurs points. DeSmith is stepping up, made some timely saves. Rakell s A on Crosby G looked like one of Crosbys A, sweet. His creative talent has upside. This team is capable of getting out of the first round and claim the honor of knocking off Tampa Bay stopping the three peat. This game is not playoff hockey.
Nice, easy-ish result. But give aways and goalie errors with the puck will cost us goals against playoff power teams like FLA, Rangers, or Canes. Must be much sharper…already.
