  1. Herberg is also part of a generation where there was no such thing as “over training” and water are for wussies back then

  2. I'm pleased as punch that Raymond didn't go. We don't need anyone getting hurt out of contract.

  3. Good. Raymond is saving his best for the Red Wings. This season is important.

  4. huuh, just want to point out raymond is referenced because of the worlds, not the world juniors. eklund and holtz was never in the conversation of going to the worlds. also the context that he agreed to go with the team to finland to participate, but insted opted out because of "to tired". The world juniors was for the most part that sweden lost out of its 3 most valuable players.

  5. Yeah no, Raymond is on pace to be signing an $8×8 once his ELC is up. He will not be risking anything especially a junior tournament before signing that contract.

  6. By not joining he leaves a spot open for another young player to showcase themselves and help their draft stock

  7. The fact that it was brought to the media spotlight just seems like a quick cash grab incendiary article to me, because this seems like nothing more than an opinion at worst and a general expression among many at best, but I certainly understand the sentiment behind his opinion. He concedes that at the end of the day it has to be Raymond's choice, but it can feel a little bit disheartening to see your country represented in a sport with less than the absolute best of their athletes. I imagine I would remember the '14 Wintery Olympics just a little bit less colorfully if TJ Oshie had decided to opt out. Raymond rightfully did what was best for his career path, and Sweden lost a little bit for it.

  8. SHL players generally don't play more than a 50 game schedule, And Lucas Raymond just played the entire 82 game schedule in Detroit. He was exhausted so i don't blame him for skipping the WJC. He has basically said that he wasn't going to play in the WJC anyways. Even if he didn't play a long schedule.

  9. I think his comment was about the world championship, not the world juniors… could be wrong though.

  10. The only former Swedish NHL player who really mattered on Raymond playing in the World is Nic. This just sounds Iike some old man trying to criticize young players. Well back in my day….

  11. Hedberg saying "he is up to much at night" just reminds me of a grandfather talking about a kid. Good guess, but probably not gramps. The game is harder than ever to play.

  12. Im a huge world Junior hockey fan however there should be an unwritten rule that you don't send someone that is already fully developed it can and will destroy the tourney, most of these KIDS will never play in the NHL. Don't take a roster spot away from someone who NEEDS it to progres and get noticed. The world Juniors is for development and Raymond is already developed.

  13. You got a bit confused on this one, Lego. "However, his decision to pass on the spring's worlds is another matter." Hedberg is referring to the senior World Championships, not the WJC. In fact, any time you just see it just referenced as the "World's" they are talking about the senior tournament.

  14. LEGO Rocks…I’m calling YOU OUT!!! Stop making bogus Videos!!! Just stop already please thank you

  15. I agree with your comment on regression. Kids play in the WJC to get ready for the NHL. Raymond has played in the NHL and had a rough rookie season on a tough team. Rest up and come back stronger next season. Especially if they're in talks to press a wild card spot.

  16. I’m glad he didn’t play. I want him fresh for Detroit. I could give a rats behind about swedens junior team.

  17. Yeah don’t want Raymond getting hurt . We need him . He can give his body a rest. This season important for him and the wings. He’s on pace to have 8×8 contract with wings

  18. Sweden is a small nation with a limited number of players. If Sweden wants to keep the interest up, producing good hockey players, we NEED the best players to participate in all national teams. When I read your comments (incl Lego) I really doubt that you have understood the main issue.
